24.01.2022 From 9 th January LOCAL FIRE DONATION SHOUTOUT Sorry but not sorry for long post ... As the Coordinator of the Chinderah FIRE donation centre at Chinderah Sports centre I would like to say the following . . What an amazing effort and outpouring of support and donations our local community has shown fire effected towns. I have felt very humbled privilege and in awe watching what has come through the doors. Be it family’s , individuals groups of friends , community organisations and buisness. They have donated, so many goods & products to their fellow Australians and animals doing it tough or suddenly with nothing . What an inspiring number of volunteers that have also walked through the door. They have given their time ,sweat and sweat again ,effort and passion to their roles let alone donated , transport equipment and muscle power. They are the key element in it working they should all be proud of themselves I certainly am . Extra cheeky thank you to the people that dropped in baked goods and ran the BBQ for our volunteer that helped keep them sustained and going . It’s hard to describe the feeling working alongside these amazing inspirational people . I need to give a big enough shout out to PAULA NASH and TONY NASH owners of Chinderah Bay Service Station who are instigators of this Heroic effort. It became bigger then Ben Hur before their eyes. They have work all hours of the day in the middle of it to everything they can to make this as big as it has become . Other key tireless players that deserve a huge shout out. They have been here from the start as well are. # C&S NEEVES TRANSPORT COL NEEVES He has freely supplied his trucks ( What a Legend ) and has been here from open to close . Loading & unloading of trucks and organising drop off . He has also done a million other things. Legend His wife Sharon and daughter Ellen ( working like a demon ) has made it a family affair. # BEST OF BUILDERS CRAIG PADDISON Who is here from open to close doing logistics , loading & unloading of trucks and organising drop off . As well as a million other things. Legend Michelle Paddison who has been doing logistic and helping like a Wiz # ADAM GANE He is our go to guy when we need something done from Master Bbq man to assisting with anything that may pop up let alone Coordinating a Bateman bay drop off . #SENIOR MINISTER CHURCH OF CHRIST JOHN LATTER He came back from time off to open & close the Sports centre and worked huge hours everyday anything that needed doing he did it full on.

23.01.2022 After 13years in the role as Manager, Peter is unfortunately leaving Shell Chinderah. He has been such an integral part of the team and our lives over the years and will be missed. Consequently we are now looking for a dynamic site manager to run our busy service station. If interested, please email resume and covering letter to [email protected]

21.01.2022 The power of compassion on an international scale - huge box of sanitary items from France

20.01.2022 Some of the amazing volunteers who have supported on the incredible journey of compassion to help our fellow Australians in fire stricken areas in many parts of the country . . Semi trucks have delivered donated essential items to Batesman Bay and Ulladulla with many vehicles delivering also to Kyogle Shire area and surrounds and much more still to do. Tweed Coast Raiders have been such an integral part of the sorting and distribution also, along with many others - truely ...humbling the generosity of donations and the contribution of countless hours to make a difference for so many deserving people going through the toughest time. Another truck is scheduled in next few days to another area with details to be confirmed. Whilst the donation collection has actually stopped (apart from fencing items and farming equipment), the distribution is very much ongoing. Thank you Tweed Church of Christ John Latta again for the use of Tweed Sports Centre, so very much appreciated. See more

20.01.2022 A FiNAL BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED FOR YOUR GENEROSITY towards the Chinderah Fire Collection (donating, sorting, packing, cooking/providing for the large number of volunteers, logistics or helping in so many other ways) .. WOW it’s been huge!! The third semi laden Bushfire Relief Angels with 40 pallets of donations went to Coffs Harbour on Thursday where much needed items are currently being distributed by agencies/services to bushfire surrounding areas. ...A big thank you to Lindsay Bros Transport who literally within ten minutes of a call, said they would unload and store at their depot. Trying to find a location for a full semi is no small feat with lack of storage in these areas. Awesome CS Neave Transport again drove the truck through. Congratulations also to Cudgen RFS for being behind a semi laden with critical fencing for the community of Cobargo and thank you to North Coast Marketing for donating truck/diesel and driver for this long haul. There are now only a few remaining boxes that will again be delivered to Kyogle and distributed via a charity to local fire affected areas such as Rappville, Wyan, Myrtle Creek, Tabulum etc. What an incredible outcome in the matter of five weeks. It’s been massive ... overwhelming, inspiring, humbling, emotional and exhausting - This is now a wrap!!

18.01.2022 More heart warming cards written by a pre school near Byron and dropped off to servo which will be handed out to firies. I will be going to Ulladulla in a couple of weeks alongside two other key people/friends involved in this massive bushfire Appeal that became bigger than anyone would ever have imagined, due to the sharing on social media by a wonderful woman (who has not wanted to be mentioned) and who has been instrumental in the magnitude and success of this and other b...ushfire appeals . Ulladulla is where the first semi truck went, laden with tens of thousands of dollars worth of donated essential items for bushfire victims). Will post through an enormous thank you in next couple of days to some of the major donators - every donation (distributed by Lions and other local key people) was hugely appreciated by the people in Ulladulla, (second truck to Batesman Bay); and a couple of ute loads driven by the wonderful Tweed Coast Raiders to Rappville. At this stage there is another semi laden with destination pending, depending on the needs of bushfire communities. See more

16.01.2022 Have just spent a little time in Ulladulla and Batemans Bay (two of the areas devastated by fires and where the first two semi trucks with donated essential items went a couple of weeks ago). These areas were very appreciative of the generosity from the Chinderah Bushfire Collection and are so in need of support - to see the widespread damage was quite confronting. 200 houses lost in Ulladulla and 400 in Batemans Bay and many businesses affected. Very grateful to have been able to contribute in some way. Thanks so much for your support - Kyogle area also has had many donations from the collection ... another semi truck will soon go to the Coffs Habour vicinity.

12.01.2022 What a heartwarming post by Rachel who was one of the mighty volunteers going that extra mile throughout this incredible week. There was such a sense of community, good energies and unified effort, working towards the goal of making a difference to people going through such a very tough time.

12.01.2022 Firefighters continue to make the most of benign conditions to work on containment of 75 bush fires, of which 25 are still to be contained. Rain continues to f...all across a number of firegrounds, however areas in the Far South Coast and along the border are still yet to receive any moisture. More than 1,500 firefighters are out today, with some celebrating the first rainfall in months. This photo taken of the Anna Bay crew on the One Mile Fire. See more

11.01.2022 As a local family owned business for over 17years, we would like to extend our heartfelt sadness for all the businesses that have closed and those whom have los...t jobs, with more inevitably to come. Two months ago so many supported the bushfires and now are struggling to survive themselves. In these challenging times, we are open 24hrs and taking precautions to keep customers and staff safe with sanitisation and other precautions such as newly installed perspex. We ask customers to also take their own precautions with the social distancing. Stay healthy - we are in this together. See more

09.01.2022 The AH 1733 Krawarree that has been stored at Shell Chinderah Bay for two years, has now left our location and will be restored to full sea worth condition by Hunter Anzac Memorial. We are proud to have contributed in a small way and look forward to seeing this Sea Ambulance back to its former glory and on the water once again.

08.01.2022 Your donations have arrived in Batesman Bay and Ulladulla ... with more to follow next week.

08.01.2022 To be able to support people you care/love, we must first take care of ourselves by putting our own oxygen mask first before trying to help others. Self care is so important. Love this

06.01.2022 Farewell to this lady of the sea AH 1733 Krawarree, bound for Newcastle .. to be restored to full sea worth condition after two years storage at Shell Chinderah

05.01.2022 From your incredible donations received, pallets were also packed by volunteers and picked up (and very much appreciated) by our fabulous rural fire brigades in NSW and Gold Coas. These contained essential items as well as treats such as protein bars/balls, energy drinks and heartfelt hand written notes by children.

02.01.2022 thank you awesome Currumbin Valley Rural Fire Brigade for your contribution, you are true heroes.

01.01.2022 Generously donated items are now being distributed to the fire affected areas of Northern Rivers via the charity Our Two Hands. Many car/trailer loads (mostly driven by the incredible Tweed Coast Raiders) have already been delivered with much needed essential items and will continue. Our Two Hands is the Natural Disaster Co-Ordinator for all donations/collections under Kyogle Council which includes the areas of Wyan, Rappville, Upper Mongogore, Drake, Tabulam, Pike Pene, Kippenduff, Myrtle Creek, Wiparee. Please note we are no longer accepting general donations. We do have another truck planned in next few days with fencing equipment and farming equipment for another location, so if you can help here, please message. Thanks

01.01.2022 A LETTER to my business partner (and ex husband) I wanted to say how very proud I am to be working alongside you on Chinderah Bush Fire Drop Off Point - we have the support of hundreds of the most incredible volunteers (the majority whom we have never met before) in working on this extraordinary and humbling project to send much needed donations/equipment to help our many Australians affected by bushfires - far too many who have lost all household items and are now livi...ng under tarpoulins and tents. The generosity of everyone is quite overwhelming and beyond words - it has been a very emotional and difficult week and there have been countless of goosebump moments. Next week is going to be another huge one with donations at a different level and we will be posting soon on the Chinderah Bush Fire Drop Off Point fb page the updated essential items and on Instagram chinderah_bushfire_donation. As I write this, the third Semi truck is nearly packed and has supplies and will head for Rappville (near Lismore) and RFS and will leave soon. See more
