05.01.2022 HOPE FOR A NEW FUTURE From CCSV to CCCIS After 21 years of service to our community, THE CHINESE CANCER SOCIETY OF VICTORIA (CCSV) is embarking on a new and exciting journey. Over the decades, our focus has been focusing on cancer sufferers and their carers. But now we are expanding our scope to serve those who are affected by chronic illness. This is a big step for us. The Chinese Cancer Society will assume the work of our sister charity, the Chinese Chronic Illness Founda...tion, and change its name to become THE CHINESE CANCER AND CHRONIC ILLNESS SOCIETY OF VICTORIA INCORPORATED (CCCIS). In a nod to our heritage and original mission, our Chinese name, " " remains the same. We will continue to work from our Support Centre based in Box Hill and support those suffering chronic illnesses, such as Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease, Diabetes and the like. We have found that sufferers of diseases such as these often miss out on community support due to language and cultural barriers, and our new Society hopes to address this issue. After the Society's birthday party on 27 January 2017, we formally launch our new legal name : CCCIS, along with our new website where there will be information to set out what our new mission is. Lets us hope for a new future in years to come. See more
