25.01.2022 Good news appears to be on the way. This is an email received tonight. Will update tomorrow when we receive formal notification from Golf Australia with what we can and can’t do at the club. Thanks for your patience, hopefully we will be out slicing golf balls into Rocky Creek soon.

25.01.2022 Golf Update - Sunday Comp The Sunday Competition is still underway this week - we will be playing a Bisque Bogey event. Names in at 8.30am for a 9am start.... * Strict rules are in place in regards to social distancing before, during and after the game - please keep to at least 1.5m distance from other people. * If you are unable to score points on the hole, pick up your ball and be ready for the next hole. Speed of play is more of an issue now than it ever was. * Do not congregate in the clubhouse - pay your green / comp fees and move outside immediately * We will only be accepting card payments on the day for both comp and green fees. NO CASH will be accepted * No Alcohol can be consumed on the course We are currently in a privileged position to be able to play golf when so many activities have been cancelled. Hope to see you all there.....from a distance.

25.01.2022 Please remember AGM is being held tomorrow at 9.30am. All members are encouraged to attend.

24.01.2022 Starting this Sunday, 1st of March we will be moving the Sunday competition to a tee off time of 9am. This means that names need to be in by 8.30am. This change has been asked by many members in order to get out of the heat and still have the afternoon at home free. Please support this change and let other members know of the new start time.

21.01.2022 Junior Golf will be held again tomorrow morning at 9am. As always if your little golfer can swing a club or just wants to start learning, you're welcome to head on down. See you there.

21.01.2022 It’s certainly dry out on the course, but the greens are in great condition. A credit to everyone involved. If you can get out early or later in the afternoon and beat the heat, the course is still up to it’s challenging best!

20.01.2022 Golf Course Update from Golf Australia: The Coure is OPEN "Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr. Jeanette Young and the Queensland Government Director-General, Department of Justice and Attorney-General, David Mackie have provided advice to Golf Australia that Queensland Golf Clubs can operate on their Golf Courses from Wednesday 25th March, 2020 in accordance with National Cabinets approved measures relating to outdoor gatherings which includes but is not limited to having gro...ups less than 10 people and maintaining a 1.5m spacing" Please note the following: * Golf carts will not be available for public hire * The consumption of liquor is not permitted on the premises eg. in the club, around the clubhouse, on the course * Changes will be made to the hole / pin to further protect players and reduce contact with flag etc. * Golf balls, gloves, tees etc can still be purchased at the club, but please do not congregate in this area * If you are sick in any way do not go to the course, as you will be asked to leave * Continue to treat our onsite caretakers and volunteers at the club with respect - we all need to get through this together. Golf will be one of the rare sports at this stage to continue to operate and we need to place great value on that privilege. Enjoy Sporter's tomorrow, but keep your distance! How Good is Golf!

20.01.2022 Monthly Mug this Sunday. The course is in great condition, so it should make for a great day.

19.01.2022 Junior Golf will be on again tomorrow at 9am, weather pending. Head down and enjoy having a swing and learning the game.

18.01.2022 Course Update - Social Players Welcome Social Players will be allowed on the course again, however social distancing still applies. That means that no more than two per group and only one per motorised cart. The clubhouse will be open, but only to purchase food, drinks and golf balls, tees etc. No alcohol can be purchased at the course or brought on from outside.... Please do not congregate in or around the clubhouse while waiting to start your round. The club needs your support to get through a tough time that we know is effecting everyone at the moment. The good news is that all you need to do to help is have a game of golf!

16.01.2022 We have received notification from the Queensland Government via Golf Australia in regards to combating the COVID-19 Virus: "If a course or facility is licensed then it must completely close immediately. In the majority of cases in Queensland that will mean the closure of both clubhouse and course to members and the public." The Chinchilla Golf Course falls into this category, so we have no choice but to close both the clubhouse and course itself until further notice. ... The situation with the COVID-19 virus is fluid and Golf Australia is advocating with Government to have this ruling overturned, but at this stage we need to play our part within the local community. Hope to see you all on the course when the course is reopened.

15.01.2022 Draw for match play comp

13.01.2022 Please note that the Club and course will be closed from between 2pm and 4pm for a wedding and function today.

11.01.2022 Well it's changed again...... Apologies for the on again off again messages, the situation is so fluid and information / opinions of information are coming in all the time. We have asked the local police for clarification in regards to the playing of golf as a form of exercise - they have advised us that the course can remain open to Members of the Club only.... The current social distancing regulations need to be strictly followed in regards to two players per group and keeping distance inbetween. Please ensure that you have your current membership tag showing on your bag when you arrive at the course - this is the only way that the caretakers can identify you as a member. If you don't have a tag you will not be able to play. If you are a member and have not yet received your tag please contact me via email ([email protected]) or through facebook messenger. Enjoy it while you can!

07.01.2022 We are holding a working bee this Saturday morning starting at 5.30/6.00am to help clean up around the course. I know this is short notice, but the more members that can get down and help, the better the course will be. BBQ Breakfast will be supplied afterwards to all those that help.

06.01.2022 Golf Club Memberships are Now Due Membership - $240 Green Fees - $200 Jnr Membership - $80... Golf Cart Storage - $110 This year we will be reintroducing a bag tag to identify members on the course. 05.01.2022 Unfortunately the QGC charity golf event that was due for tomorrow has been forced to reschedule to a later date to be announced. The course is still open and available for social play - it’s looking great on course, so get out there and have a game.

02.01.2022 Sadly we have been advised by Golf Australia: ‘Golf Australia has advised all Australian golf clubs and facilities to close until further notice.’ The club will be closed until further notice.... A sad time for us keen golfers, but it is not a surprise after last night’s announcements. Stay safe and see you on the green soon. https://www.golf.org.au/australian-golf-clubs-advised-to-cl
