25.01.2022 I will call on council to SCRAP the proposed stadium development at Percy Treyvaud Memorial Park. It's about time Stonnington City Council listen to the community and works with them. I would like you to Vote 1 for Chintan BHARWADA. I want to be your Councillor, I will listen to the community, I will represent your needs. I have been transparent from day 1 of my campaign, I don't support the stadium development at Percy.
23.01.2022 6 key areas where I will put in my BEST for the next four years, that's a promise. My aim is to get East Ward what THEY deserve and not be a second fiddle! If you share my views, help me save East Ward and give me your vote. We deserve better. We need a Councillor who stands up for residents and not developers. I want to be your Councillor. Regards,... 22.01.2022 Did you know that the Local Government Minister has just announced that letterboxing for Local Council Elections is prohibited under Stage 4 restrictions! This means NO letterboxing for candidates will be allowed. I am running as an Independent candidate. I am neither endorsed by apolitical party nor have stake/links in/with property developers. I am counting on you to support me and spread the word. I am standing up for Malvern, Malvern East and Glen Iris. Vote for me on 24 Oct to be your East ward councillor! Stay Safe! Regards. 22.01.2022 Airing out all of the rooms in your house or apartment is crucial. Not just during the Coronavirus spread. While staying at home, we move around the house and puff up the clouds of dust, which then accumulates on the surfaces. Also, we fill the air with carbon dioxide much quicker than it would be if we were, let’s say, at work. The less oxygen there is in the room, and the more dust there is, the bigger is the possibility of various bacteria flourish and cause respiratory diseases.
22.01.2022 What a delightful day! Hope you are making the most of your hour outside. We went to Central Park for a walk. Will be grabbing a skinny latte across the road on the way back. Stay safe. Chintan
20.01.2022 BUDGET FIREWORKS. See where and how your rates are being spent. Watch it from your comfort of your home. Much more entertaining than Netflix! See first hand how some of the councillors behave. Stonnington City Council meeting on Monday 17 Aug. Budget submissions will be heard at 6pm followed by council meeting at 7pm. - Minutes and agendas: https://www.stonnington.vic.gov.au//Co/Minutes-and-agendas - Webcast: http://webcast.stonnington.vic.gov.au/
15.01.2022 If ANYONE is not working/not getting a paycheck and runs out of food or necessities or times are just tough...please don’t let yourself or your kids go to sleep with an empty stomach. Don’t be afraid or embarrassed to send me a private message. I am more than happy to share whatever I can. No one has to know and I will pretend it never happened. What's understood never has to be explained. #JoinTheCause CopyAndPasteIfYouCanAndAreWilling
13.01.2022 Let's have an East Ward meeting every quarter. I would like to see this happen. Do you? How about some real community consultation? Do you recall the last three East Ward meetings? Did all our three Councillors show up? Let's get some basics right, simply put, East Ward Councillors are elected to represent the residents and ratepayers of Malvern, Malvern East and Glen Iris. So, the question is if you are not meeting with your constituents how are you representing their in...terests? My idea of quarterly meeting will enable councillors to listen to community issues and needs. If I am elected, I would like to make this small change. Are you up for it? Do you want to be heard? If yes, I want to be your councillor. VOTE 1 for Chintan Bharwada.
12.01.2022 There are numerous issues of concern in Stonnington City Council: Over budgeted vanity capital projects (Prahran Square), approving projects against the community wishes (stadium at Percy), overdevelopment, poor planning decisions, parking, rising opportunistic crime from parked cars, rising rates, lack of maintenance of community facilities, etc. This is the feedback I received from 200+ residents via FB, phone, and messages! Kindly note - My campaign is self-funded and no...n-party political. I will represent your interests. My independent status is important to determine issues on their merits, beholden to no-one. I am not endorsed by, but am a member of the Liberal Party. I remain focused on what is best for our community. My family and I have lived in East Ward for over 18 years between Malvern, Glen Iris and Malvern East, where we currently enjoy the community and lifestyle. I decided to be proactive and stand for election to council. We deserve better. We need a Councillor who stands up for residents. I will stand up for Malvern, Malvern East and Glen Iris. I want to be YOUR Councillor. More updates coming soon. Feel free to ring me on 0466411491 or drop me a line here. Stay Safe! Regards. Chintan
08.01.2022 As your councillor, I will be accessible, effective, collaborative and committed to the success of East Ward, which has been our home for 18 years. It’s a wonderful place to raise a family. Our son goes to the Lloyd Street School, where I serve on the school council. Professionally, I have over 20 years of experience in managing departments/businesses. I am experienced at resisting the pressure to say yes when the correct response is no. For this very reason, my campaign ...is self-funded; there is no funding from developers or builders or any political party. My independent status is important for me to determine issues on their merits. Everyone who expects to live in Malvern, Malvern East, Glen Iris for any length of time, should consider the results of this election carefully. If you share my views, help me save Stonnington and give me your vote. We deserve better. We need a Councillor who stands up for residents and not developers. I want to be your Councillor. Regards, Chintan Bharwada

03.01.2022 Ok, I have had number of calls (in the last two weeks) asking if I was accepting donations for my council election campaign! I am grateful but I have politely declined. Just clarifying, I am NOT accepting any donations from anyone. My campaign is self-funded, so NO to Builders/Developers, NO to Political Funding, NO to everyone. All I want is your support. Kindly DM me if you are happy to display my corflute sign in your front yard, window, or any visible area. Your support w...ill make a huge difference. We deserve better. We need a Councillor who stands up for residents. I will stand up for Malvern, Malvern East and Glen Iris. I want to be YOUR Councillor. Feel free to ring me on 0466411491 or drop me a line here. Thanks. Chintan Bharwada
02.01.2022 It's been a fun morning. A dozen or so signs are up. Thanks to my East Ward supporters. Can I put one at yours? Please message me.
01.01.2022 Unfortunately, this year's budget is locked and loaded. How about a real rate relief of 10% to residents and businesses next year! The impact of the COVID lockdown will be felt by residents and businesses for a few years. Many are doing it tough... have spoken to several people who have lost their jobs, working at reduced hours, cutting expenses, and some barely surviving. IF I win, I will make myself and others accountable and answerable to the community. This time when you ...VOTE, MAKE IT COUNT. I will stand up for Malvern, Malvern East, Glen Iris. I will fight for a 10% rate relief next year. More updates coming soon. BTW - Are you up for a late late-night horror show? I mean go watch the 31 Aug council meeting webcast http://webcast.stonnington.vic.gov.au/video.php see the catfight... I mean go see the discussions at the council's budget meeting. Cannot believe that the councillors spent nearly 2 listening to budget submissions which included residents, ratepayers’ groups, and associations, all indicating they would welcome a rate relief. So, what happens, see for yourself, another hour or so of debate and what do they decide? Approve the 2% rate rise! Shameful.
01.01.2022 Fantastic. We have 13 candidates in East Ward (Malvern, Malvern East, and Glen Iris). Everyone who lives and expects to live in Malvern, Malvern East, Glen Iris for any length of time, should consider the results of this election carefully. It's time for residents to do thorough research. All the best.
