24.01.2022 How should you exercise when you have Anxiety or Depression? Here’s 3 places to start- 1 - People with anxiety really don’t train great when it’s high intensity. High intensity exercise increases your heart rate, which won’t always suit a person who has an anxiety disorder because it can trigger anxiety or panic attacks, and increase nausea in an already stressful situation. Consider doing a lower intensity program. Or at least starting with one. Do strength stuff, lower r...ange rep major lifts, maintain a moderate HR during the session with no sudden spikes in HR. 2 - Exercising when you have depression is kinda the opposite. You should work towards higher intensity to release serotonin, increase heart rate and blood flow. Do things like decent gym classes (i.e not les mills), cycling groups, jogging buddies, gym mates, you name it. Whatever you do, do it with company and until you’re sweating! 3 - Work on skills! Don’t just do exercise! Give yourself something to take away from the session. Makes a huge difference. Stuff like handstands, working on the splits, triangle headstands, pull-ups, pistol squats. You know, cool show off stuff. And that’s advice for normal people as well as personal trainers/coaches. #chinuptraining #fitnessformentalhealth #anxiety #depression

14.01.2022 "Being Black and ‘successful’ comes at a cost. You take a hit whether you like it or not. You can’t stand up you have to sit down. Just ask the brother boy Adam Goodes. - Please watch Meyne Wyatt's incredible monologue in its entirety.

14.01.2022 We did it you guys. To those who put their money where their mouth was and bought a beanie, singlet or T-shirt to support this fundraiser - THANK YOU. For a month and a half 100% of Chin-Up merch profits went towards the Black Dog Institute. Although to hit this $1000 Mark we had a LOT of larger personal donations from friends, family... and complete strangers! (Which is super humbling and cool when you think about it). The merch ended up pushing this over the line, so thanks legends. NOW YOUR FAV OUTDOOR COACH ACTUALLY HAS TO RUN THIS THING @city2surf #prayforTrin . The @blackdoginst funds and carries out research on Depression & Bipolar @ Sydney City 2 Surf
