23.01.2022 Where else would you rather be? Basking in the late afternoon sun at Lake Eacham of course Spending time here was the perfect end to an action-packed day which included hiking to Nandroya Falls, mountain bike riding along a rainforest track at Henrietta Camp Ground, and then spotting a Cassowary whilst driving up the Palmerston Highway. He was a magnificent bird, but he was in such a dangerous and precarious position that we pulled the motorhome over (about 500 meters up ...the road) and walked back, not to take photos, but to signal oncoming traffic to slow until we could get some assistance to help move him off the highway. After about half an hour of waving traffic to ensure they slowed down, the QLD Parks & Wildlife Service arrived and shooed him back into the rainforest! Phew! I would have been heartbroken if we had seen him hit by a car or truck flying by on the highway! Anyway, the sun has nearly disappeared so I think it is time to hop on my bike and head back to Lake Eacham Tourist Park and Frond cafe/gallery for a sundowner to end a lovely day exploring my patch of paradise in tropical North Queensland. 22.01.2022 We may not be able to travel afar with the borders closed and travel restrictions in place, but you don’t have to go far to have a wonderful getaway - I can’t believe the weather that has been put on for us this past week as we road trip around the region in a motorhome. Winter in the tropics, you just can’t beat it The weather is so warm all you need to wear is a nice light cotton beach tunic (I love this one from West Indies Wear) and shorts, plus a cocktail in hand and you are right to go Mission Beach, I will be back

When you stop for a moment and really take in the beauty that surrounds us you will see much of life’s amazing transformations begin with a major life-changing event (sometimes planned, many times not, many times it comes with a great deal of pain and tragedy). Our world is changing, constantly are you the type of person that resists change and makes a difficult situation more difficult for yoursel...f and others? 11.01.2022 Capturing moments in time How can you not love a good sunrise? I got up nice and early whilst on my motorhome road trip around the region to capture a time-lapse of the sun rising over Mission Beach and it did not disappoint To capture this pic I just used an iPhone 11 Pro, but there are 4 pieces of equipment I do not leave home without which helps me capture the content I do. 1 my iPhone of course; ... 2 my iOgrapher which holds my iPhone (and any size smartphone device actually), 3 my Manfrotto Tripod which is super lightweight; and 4 my RØDE Microphones - these differ depending on what I am recording - I have the Rode SmartLav+, the VideoMic GO, the VideoMic NTG (which can be used on my iPhone or you can hook it straight into your computer with their USB cable), and then there is my favourite, the Wireless GO, which is perfect for when you are out and about and needing the flexibility to move around with no cords attached - it also records well at a distance of up to about 70 meters. 07.01.2022 Happy Sunday everyone I want to give a shout-out to this awesome little cafe in Yungaburra. I’ve spent a couple of days up on the Tablelands visiting family and on Friday my parents internet went down and as I still had to work I went in search of somewhere I could sit down and continue working, enjoy a coffee and something yummy to eat I found Mad Hatterz Cafe - a lovely, quirky little cafe with, great food, coffee, very friendly staff and fab wifi. Thanks to the ladies there that allowed me to work away, uninterrupted for a good chunk of the day! You are definitely now my go to whenever I’m in town. Lisa
