25.01.2022 Guess who came to visit today..... Charlie did! He came out of hibernation! Did you know that Chipmunks hibernate for winter but dont sleep the whole time. They come out every few days to warm up. He decided he was going to come say hi to us

24.01.2022 WHAT DOES THE BRISBANE MASK MANDATE MEAN FOR THE COAST? Residents from the Greater Brisbane region have been told they must wear masks when visiting crowded ...indoor spaces until next Friday, but what do the current restrictions mean for coast residents? Currently anyone who is from or visits the Greater Brisbane area must wear masks when going into indoor venues like shopping centres and supermarkets, gyms, workplaces (if you cannot socially distance), places of worship, libraries, public transport and ride sharing vehicles. Masks are not required when exercising outdoors, cars when alone or with family or workplaces where social distancing can be upheld. But what other rules apply for Sunshine Coast residents? If you have travelled to Brisbane since 7am January 2, you are required to wear a mask in public indoor places until next Friday January 22. If you have visited Brisbane since January 2, you must carry a face mask with you at all times. If you commute between the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane you don't need to wear a mask while in your vehicle, but if you travel via public transport you do. Queensland Health recommends anyone who has visited Brisbane since Saturday also wear a face mask outdoors, if a 1.5 metre distance from others can't be maintained. Children under 12 or anyone suffering a medical condition or disability are not required to wear a mask. All residents are asked to continue practising social distancing at 1.5 metres, wash their hands and use hand sanitiser. Residents are asked to provide accurate contact details when visiting places and ensure they sign in, so they can be contacted if needed for contract tracing. Stay at home if you are sick and get tested if you have any Covid-19 symptoms. Single-use surgical masks are recommended and can be bought at pharmacies, otherwise paper and cloth masks are acceptable if residents can't get hold of a surgical mask. Ride share drivers may be travelling to the Sunshine Coast from Brisbane to work and are required to wear masks if doing so. Sunshine Coast Council said it is continuing to regularly service public facilities and asks the community to practise good hygiene when using facilities, including barbecues. MALENY CLINIC AND CASE On Saturday Queensland Health issued a public health alert after a woman returning to Queensland from Victoria, and previously the UK, tested positive for Covid-19, and then travelled to the Sunshine Coast. Travellers on the woman's flight, as well as anyone who visited the Maleny Woolworths, Purple Palate Cellers and Capriccio's Italian Restaurant on January 6 or 7 were asked to get tested. A Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service spokesperson said close contacts have been tested and are being managed according to national guidelines. The Maleny pop-up clinic has now closed and almost 500 residents were tested across the four days it was open. The SCUH spokesperson said there has been "no further cases for the Maleny region".
