25.01.2022 I am currently building a wishing well for a client and she asked do I know anybody who could make a timber bucket? I said it can't be that hard could it? So here I am having a crack at making a bucket. Had to call in the real expert (the wife) to help out

22.01.2022 Last week I got a call out of the blue from Ed & Dan at Trademutt. The boys said I was live on their podcast and that because I was one of their very first customers over 2 and a half years ago that they wanted to give me $100 credit as a random act of kindness. Well little did the boys know I had been having a pretty shitty week personally after spending 3 days at the hospital with my little girl (she is fine now by the way ), so for someone to send a random act of kindness... my way really put a smile on my face! If you don't know Trademutt was created by two tradies who had an idea to use funky work shirts to start conversations about mental health among the blue collar community of Australia. You may have seen Jimmy and Tam rocking their gear on the block this year. I never thought too much about the mental health side of life but after this last year with having a newborn, the lockdowns and while trying to do a home renovation on top of it all. It got pretty full on and I am super happy to help Aussie companies like this to do as much good in the tradie community as possible. 21.01.2022 With so much Carpentry work keeping me busy during the week, the weekends are my chance to get into the workshop and catch up on all my furniture projects, inbetween all the baby visits of course . This is a record cabinet for a customer and she has requested a cognac stain finish. I dont normally like to use stains but this osmo oil is a breeze. Timber is wormy chestnut. Photos to come.

21.01.2022 Hell week was exactly that!!! 85+ hours in just 6 days was exhausting. Andy & Deb let me off the creativity leash this week and let me take control of the study space. We needed to create a higher screen to meet regulations and with funds running low, I saw we had left-over spotted gum slats from courtyard week. This created a beautiful backdrop for what we think is an incredible study space under those giant skylights. Big final two weeks coming up!!!

18.01.2022 When you start work at 5:30am you need a quick powernap at 7:30. This polyester insulation is that dense we have to cut it with a powersaw. Gives the guests a nice quiet room though!!!
18.01.2022 We are now the house that makes the judges emotional. This week started out trying to save some money and we ended up creating a really beautiful & versatile room for the future buyer. The feedback for @andyanddeb just keeps getting better and better. Shout out to @cemintel for that amazing egde cladding we used behind the bed. How we finished 4th still blows my mind...
17.01.2022 Internal cladding install today. I have two more bedrooms to complete after this one and it is coming up a treat. It is a MDF product with 100mm spaced v groove joints. Being MDF the finish is smooth and flat and with minimal fixings it is super easy to put up and paint. In a day. It can also go directly over plaster if your wall is straight so no mess at all. Quick and easy way to transform a room.
16.01.2022 Bit of fun for a Friday. This was our video we made for Andy & Deb the night we finished up on the block. Bit of background is that Andy is ocd about cleaning. He cleaned nearly every second he was on site. At one point he was standing on the other side of the dropsaw to sweep up the dust after a cut . We always threatened him with cutting in the finished rooms so thought what better way to wrap up.

13.01.2022 What a fun week this one was! Knowing there was only 1 more week left and working outside in the sun it couldnt get any better! The week was made even better when we sent Deb off for a 10 minute drive to the hardware store, only to lose the car and return hours later By this stage everyone was was so exhausted but @sjcarpentryservices and myself kept at it and became experts at laying the outdure decking and building all the flat pack furniture to create this city view rooftop oasis.

It took me about 10 days, constantly topping up all the holes with black resin but boy oh boy it's come up an absolute treat. I've had these two slabs sitting in the workshop for almost 5 years. Length is 2300mm and width is around 850mm. I am in love

05.01.2022 Dropped this big bad boy off during the week. It is a 2100x1400 bookcase made using beautiful wormy chestnut. It has plenty of adjustable shelving to fit all different sizes of books. It fits in well with the wormy chestnut feature wall behind it and the chestnut cladded kitchen on the opposite wall. I love me some Australian hardwoods!!!
