25.01.2022 LDR POOLS + LANDSCAPES - TEAM OF THE YEAR - ROUND 2 Week two done and dusted, all completed just before the rain. 20.01.2022 Rep Watch 2021 - Jan 10 Yesterday we had three teams in action, with make up games for the u12s Keith Mitchell and u14s Des Nolan 2 and the u15s Balwyn playing Round 4. Kanhai Patel's Balwyn had a trip down to Endeavour Hills. They were sent into bat and accumulated a healthy total of 6/165 off their 40 overs, Kanhai contributing 11. Early wickets in the run chase meant Endeavour Hills were never in the hunt, restricted to 7-80 in reply. Kanhai bowled 3 overs, 0/4.... Over in Werribee for the second time in a week, the u14s and the u12s actually got a game this time around. The u14s lost the toss and bowled first, with WRJCA setting a challenging 5/159 off their 40 overs. Our very own Ryan Luckhurst was the pick of the bowlers, with 8 overs, 1 maiden, 2/25. For the chase, Tom Handasyde returned to opening the batting and contributed 15, but a run out saw the in form Tom Collins dismissed for a duck as the run chase struggled to get going. Ryan came in at 6/56 in the 19th over, and started to rebuild the chase. A 30 run partnership over the next 8 overs gave some life back to the chase, but when Ryan was dismissed for 12 there was too much left to do for the tail, eventually bowled out for 126. The u12s also lost the toss, but were sent in to bat first. The RDCA ended up bowled out for 128, with Troy Casey missing out on the opportunity to bat this game. In response WRJCA did it comfortably, winning with 4 overs and 4 wickets to spare. Another big day of rep cricket today, with all RDCA and BHRDCA sides playing today. As always, check mycricket for up to date fixtures and live scores. Go Panthers!

18.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own Liam Brown who collected the 2019/20 Doug Rickarby Medal, awarded to the Best and Fairest for the BHRDCA u18s competition as determined by 3-2-1 votes from the umpires. 8 matches, 222 runs, 5 wickets, 4 catches, 1 run-out and 1 stumping.

16.01.2022 We've had some vision come in from our 4th XI on Saturday. If you came down to the club on Saturday after the games, you would've heard all about it. If he didn't tell you himself, anyone who'd heard it would have told you. A young all rounder who has been playing rep cricket last week and this week took a few lessons he learned into his Saturday afternoon club game. Opening the bowling he took a key early wicket to put the pressure on Kilsyth, helping take the score to 3/9.... Kilsyth settled in the middle order and got to 4/132, giving them a sniff at victory before the skipper Greeny said Tredders, have another bowl. Ryan Luckhurst came back into the attack and broke the key partnership. The very next ball, another wicket. On a hattrick. Luckily the 6th XI had an early finish, because that meant Wynnie was able to capture what followed on video. The second senior hattrick (both by juniors!) for the club this season, following Reuben Johnson's in Round 1. Well done Ryan, cherish the moment because it's something that might never happen again.

15.01.2022 Rep Watch 2021 - Jan 5 Again, we had a lot of teams washed out by Melbourne's fickle weather. Our u14 Des Nolan and u12 Keith Mitchell boys had to travel all the way to Werribee for their washouts, which wasn't ideal. Our boys and girls did get 4 games in, resulting in 3 wins. Phoenix Beck in the BHRDCA u18s side shared a 104 run opening partnership as they easily chased down North West Metro's 119.... Jeremy Newsome's RDCA u14s Russell Allen Shield side had a solid 20 run win over Dandenong to get their campaign underway. The RDCA u14s Julie Savage Shield side crashed back down to earth with a 50 run loss to SECA. A bit too much was left to Emer and Scarlett to chase, with Scarlett second top scoring with 15 retired. The highlight again though was the performance of Hayley Wyngaard in the u12s Claudia Fatone Shield. Hayley retired twice as she second top scored with 16, helping the RDCA recover from 2/9 and then 4/46 to post a defendable 4/109, Diamond Valley's 6/71 eventually falling well short. There's been a few matches rescheduled to today due to the weather over the past couple of days. Phoenix Beck's BHRDCA u18s side is playing ECA at Myrtle Park. Jatin Beri and Braden Harvey's RDCA u18s side is playing DVCA at Pinks Reserve #1, while Jacko McFarlane's RDCA u16s side is playing at Pinks Reserve #2. Jeremy Newsome's RDCA u14s side is playing SECA at HE Parker Reserve. Check mycricket for the most up to date fixtures. Go Panthers!

06.01.2022 Rep Watch 2021 - Jan 11 A busy day of rep cricket saw 13 of our 14 boys and girls in action. In the u18s, Phoenix Beck made a run a ball 9 not out to help the BHRDCA to 5/144 off their 30 overs. Diamond Valley never looked likely, bowled out for 97 in response. Meanwhile Jatin Beri made 13 as the RDCA amassed 5/187 in 30 overs. Braden Harvey wasn't required with the ball as North West were bowled out for 45 in just 15 overs.... In the u16s, the RDCA made 9/156 off their 30 overs, cruising to victory over BHRDCA. Jackson McFarlane bowled well, with 5 overs 0/16. In the u14s, Jeremy Newsome scored 22 off only 19 balls as the RDCA Russell Allen Shield side accumulated 6/168 off their 30 overs. FTGDCA could only manage 7/112 in response. Still in the u14s, it was an all RDCA derby in the Des Nolan Cup. Ryder Joyce's RDCA 1 side came out on top over Tom Collins, Tom Handasyde and Ryan Luckhurst's RDCA 2 sode, 6/178 defeating 8/108. Ryder took 2/11 off his 3 overs, Ryan Luckhurst opened the batting and made 21, and Tom Handasyde finished with an unbeaten 23. Tom Collins was unfortunately affected by the heat, and not well enough to bat. In the u14 girls, 6/146 off their 20 overs was more than enough for Scarlett Carpenter and Emer Heffernan's RDCA side. Emer finished with 2 overs 1/11 as BHRDCA was bowled out for 61 in just 11 overs. In the u12 boys, Troy Casey closed out the RDCA's batting innings with an unbeaten 13 off 12 balls as they thrashed a mammoth score of 5/227 off their 30 overs. North West Metro were never in the hunt, finishing 96 runs short. In the u12 girls, Hayley Wyngaard's RDCA side were challenged by a strong ECA side. 5/88 off their 20 overs was a solid total, with the RDCA restricting ECA to 5/76 in response. Hayley the standout in the field with a catch and a runout to help dismiss two of their top 3 batters. Good luck all in your games today, most teams are in the hunt for finals so we'll hopefully have a few more rep watches to come!

05.01.2022 PANTHER ROUND 3 TEAMS Another exciting week completed with the Women and T20 teams getting the chocolates. Both our Men and Women 1st XI sides play their first home games for the season this weekend so let’s all get down to the home of the Panther and cheer them on all weekend.... Good luck everyone and stay safe. Go Panthers #chirnsideparkcricketclub #cpcc #panthers #chirnsidepark #cricket #rdca #wccc #womenscricket #round3 #cricketvictoria #community #supportyourlocal

05.01.2022 LDR POOLS & LANDSCAPES - TEAM OF THE YEAR - ROUND 1 The team of the year is back again for this season and to make it all bigger and better we have a new sponsor to support it. LDR Pools and Landscapes... LDR are coming onboard just in time for Summer. Registered builders of swimming pools and structural landscapes, give Lockie or Dave a call to discuss how the team at LDR can transform your backyard into your own private resort. With 7 senior teams this season we should see a lot of new names come through as star performers and this week we have a first senior gamer. Great effort Reubs. Well done to everyone who made the team this round! #chirnsideparkcricketclub #cpcc #panthers #chirnsidepark #cricket #cricketvictoria #rdca #teamoftheyear #community #localbusiness #sponsor #supportyourlocal

05.01.2022 A very wet day in Melbourne saw all of our boys getting washed out today. But a stroke of luck saw the u12 girls moved to Kimberley Reserve, which was clearly the place to be today. Both the u12 girls and the u14 girls got full games of cricket in, and both got the win. A big thankyou to Yarra Ranges Council for all the work they've done maintaining the grounds to allow a full day's play despite all the rain. The RDCA u14 girls had a very healthy victory. Scarlett Carpenter ...compiled an unbeaten 29 as the RDCA set an imposing total of 182 all out. Emer Heffernan notched up some very healthy figures of 2 overs, 1/2 as Diamond Valley were bowled out for 45. The RDCA u12 girls had a hotly contested match against our neighbours Box Hill Reporter. In the field, Hayley Wyngaard took a catch and had a run out as the RDCA restricted BHRDCA to 6/119 off their 30 overs. In reply, Hayley made her 7 runs off 20 balls retired. She came back in at 4/117, needing 3 runs to win off the last 2 balls of the game! As anyone who's seen Hayley bat would know though, her running between the wickets is electric. She got bat on ball to force a single off the 2nd last ball, and her hard running ensured a two off the last ball to win the game. 2 wins from 2 at Kimberley Reserve, and 3 strong contributions from our Chirny girls. Hopefully the weather is a bit better tomorrow and the boys get a chance to play too! Thanks to Glenn Wyngaard for the photos.

03.01.2022 Congratulations to one of Chirnside Park Cricket Club's most decorated players, Robby Clarke, who today plays his 251st senior game, and in doing so becomes the club games record holder! Rob has amassed quite the trophy cabinet over the past 20 seasons and holds quite a number of club records. And he has no plans of slowing down anytime soon either, taking 40 wickets, including 4 hauls of 5 wickets, and making 168 runs last season.... One of the very few things he hasn't done just yet is taken a hat-trick. Fingers crossed he can cross that off the list later today Well done Rob! 01.01.2022 The 5th XI took on St Andrews at Lilydale Heights Reserve yesterday. We won, but the result was almost inconsequential. What made this match so special was the Joyce's. Matt and Ryder Joyce have been playing together as father son in the 5s this year. This week Matt's father and Ryder's grandfather, Keith Joyce, joined them for a game. The CPCC 5th XI got to play host to the rare grandfather-father-son triple. Not only were they playing together in the same side, but Keith and Ryder opened the bowling together, while Matt and Ryder shared a 138 run partnership (without even batting together!). An amazing experience for the Joyce family, CPCC is thrilled to have been able to accommodate it.
