25.01.2022 Create Space: Online is an opportunity for people who can’t participate in the face to face sessions - be that due to child care, mobility issues, or just not ready to get out there yet. It offers informal support without pressure as the focus will be on the connection with no pressure to be engaged in arts or crafts from the comfort of your own home. Initially, this free program will be facilitated by Marcela Olea, a qualified and experienced Art Therapist, to help gently as...sist the group in its formation. 11am to noon Mondays, November to December 14 Via Zoom. (Participants will require internet access and a computer, tablet, or smart device with audio and video functions.) Places are limited, be sure to book your seat at the table asap. Call 5472 4842. This project is supported by the Victorian Government’s Community Activation and Social Isolation Initiative and Mount Alexander Shire Council

24.01.2022 CHIRP Community Health is on the lookout for volunteer companion walkers. If you can spare at least an hour a week, or maybe more, there are residents of Mount Alexander Shire who would like a companion. You need to have a friendly, respectful and welcoming manner, have the ability to relate to all kinds of people and have a reasonable level of fitness. ... The idea is to provide companionship during the walk and to walk with people at the person’s pace and comfort level, abiding by all current COVID-19 regulations such as social distancing, use of a mask, hand sanitiser, and group size limitations.
