13.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone! Here’s a fun animal fact to finish off your week. Did you know that huntsman spiders drum their legs against tree trunks to attract mates? He’s a video of our resident huntsman doing just that! Huntsman spiders are also interesting in that their legs don’t bend vertically like many other species, rather they spread out forwards allowing them to get into the tightest spaces. ... If you would like to learn more about this fascinating species take a look at the Australian Museum website. Australian.museum/learn/animals/spiders/huntsman-spiders/

07.01.2022 Our fencing workshop took place at Navelina Reserve last Saturday and we’d like to thank the rain for holding off until after it had finished. But more so we’d like to give a special thank you to Phil and Vicki Humphry for coming out and leading the show. They did a wonderful job! Navelina Reserve in Lower Chittering is one of our revegetation sites which is funded by Swan Alcoa Landcare Program. For 2020, we were able to secure a grant that has allowed us to fence the reserve and help protect the new plants from threats such as cheeky kangaroos looking for a snack. Just being able to put up this fence is fantastic, but being able to also use it as an opportunity to run this workshop was a great added bonus. We hope all our attendees went away feeling like they learnt some valuable skills they can put to use on their own properties.
