17.01.2022 What a night ! A big thank you to the Loaded Dog crew ! It felt so good to be singing for, and bantering with a great Dog crowd, and catching up with great mates - on and off stage. Here’s Craig Sinclair. Craig gave us three beautifully natural songs, with some very sharp, clever finger-style guitar. We also had excellent floor spots from Glenys Eddy, and Chris Maltby. Not surprisingly, we both loved Chris’s choice of songs - Alistair Hullet’s ‘Ballad of 75’ - which we quick...ly, and happily crossed off our list for our first set, and then Chris was joined by Margaret Walters for John Dengate’s ‘Song of the Sheet-metal Worker’... A perfect point of connection for our first set ! A pleasure all ‘round ! The Leichhardt Bowlo provided a different, but very nice plugged-Dog venue. And speaking of plugged - thanks to Chris Miller for his attentive and easy tech work on the PA. Thanks to everybody who came, bought albums, and made it a gig to remember ! I’ve woken up in a dreamy daze, half-way home here in Blackheath. Time to get up and into it, pick up the girls from a night with Nan and Pop, and launch into our final Saturday Streaming show tonight - the last gig on our books... Tonight at seven.

The main thing to note now is that you’ll need to book in before arriving. Chloë & Jason Roweth - 8pm The Loaded Dog at Leichhardt Bowlo - "We're ending this crazy year in good style with another great concert, but on a Friday night this time, so hope you are able to join us." Chloë & Jason's CD A Voice That Was Still was awarded the National Folk Recording Award for 2010 by the National Film & Sound Archive at the Australian National Folk Festival. Leichhardt Bowling Club 88-92 Piper St, Lilyfield Disabled access via entrance in Piper St. Parking underground from Charlotte St (no lift) or in Piper St. Come earlier for a yummy dinner from the Bistro. $20 cash at the door for everyone. Audience limited to 50. Bookings are essential - just email Sandra Yes!! I'll be there, wouldn't miss it for quids. There are still seats available. "We have seats for Folk Fed members." The Club has a COVID-Safe plan & is registered with the NSW government as a COVID-Safe business. It is following all the requirements related to that, regarding social distancing, all people being seated, no dancing, hand hygiene (sanitiser stations, electronic or single use menus), electronic or manual recording of all attendees, etc. The Club is set up with small tables (socially distanced), has a bar, & a great bistro, so do consider having dinner. Non-members also need to sign in using the old fashioned book with those little tear-out pages that you carry around.

03.01.2022 Back to the gigs, but not... Just had the last of my Wahluu campfire gigs with school kids cancelled for the rest of the year. The school are citing Covid reasons. Who could blame them? But I’m a little very devastated. It has been so good to be back. The last few nights were as good as any gigs, anytime ! I’ll treasure those memories. And I have one tonight - the last one. I’m hoping for another magic night. Then we have The Loaded Dog on Friday. And that’s it ! So - far f...rom being back in work, we are actually heading into a barren summer. It’s not unusual to have not many other gigs in summer - my summers would always revolve around enormous gig and programming commitments at the Mighty Woodford. But there’d usually be a few others. Not this year - there are precisely no gigs in the diary after Friday at the Dog... A strange feeling. We’re pretty good at looking for the open doors. We’ll be ok... We have a very big list of things we have to get to, and an enormous list of things we’d like to get to !
