10.01.2022 Who enjoyed prawns yesterday for christmas? If so, don't throw the shells and heads out!! Here is a quick and simple prawn oil to make with the reserved shells. You can use it to cook your prawns in next time or drizzle over seafood spaghetti, and then dip warm crusty bread into the rest! Recipe below Prawn Oil Recipe Prawn heads and shells from 800g of prawns 3/4 cup oil (I use rice bran)... 2tbsp tomato paste 3 large garlic cloves, finely sliced 1tbsp smoked paprika 1tsp sumac 1tsp salt 1 carrot, diced 2 celery stalks, finely sliced 1. Preheat the oven to 200. Coat the prawn heads and shells in tomato paste, then add the rest of the ingredients and stir to combine. Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty! 2. Transfer to a baking dish and roast in the oven for at least 45 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or so. Your oil is ready when you are happy with the depth of flavour. 3. Set aside to cool before passing through a muslin lined sieve. Store in an oil bottle or glass jar. Enjoy!

01.01.2022 Little hands, big hearts. Kids love helping out in the kitchen, and are more prone to eating what they have helped prepare! My nephew helped us cook yoghurt flatbread on the bbq and was so chuffed with what he had done, it was pretty much the only thing he ate at lunch! Letting little people help is messy, takes a lot more time and requires patience and zero control over how it all turns out. Easy to write about, harder to do! But that is the art of slowing down and enjoying the details of life, because at the end of the day what outcome can we actually control! #chloebowles #honestpeoplehonestfood #slowliving #easycooking #lifewithkids #simplicity #happyhearts
