25.01.2022 Less than half of Australian adults get enough calcium. And no, a blood test doesn’t help - only 1% of calcium is stored in your blood, 99% is stored in your bones. Do you get at least 2 serves of a calcium rich food each day? Two-thirds of all women and one third of all Australian men will develop osteoporosis. #calciumbones https://www.instagram.com/p/CFItTUagYLL/?igshid=6paia6mgbx8i

25.01.2022 Good stuff from Woolies - making healthier easier with some great articles and recipes nutritionist approved with less sugar and salt, healthy protein and dairy, heaps of veggies and fruit, and healthy fats. The pictures look mouthwatering! https://www.woolworths.com.au//he/making-healthier-easier #woolieshealthiereasier https://www.instagram.com/p/B3WjfHOAp7U/?igshid=szyzqnmomclj

25.01.2022 Every time you practice a new behaviour you get a little closer to making that behaviour a new habit. Don’t worry if the progress is a little bumpy ... be patient and hang in there. Often when we don’t get results instantly we convince ourselves that our efforts are in vain and almost give ourselves the excuse to stop trying. It’s a real shame when this happens - jus by being a little patient and keeping at it we then see a positive result which makes it all so worthwhile. This then boosts our confidence, and more importantly ... our motivation! #hanginthere https://www.instagram.com/p/B4qbaEMAQUc/?igshid=oka4vseyw6q9

24.01.2022 Scuze the puffs of steam coming off my stir fry! A new sauce I used, very tasty. And yes it does contain sugar - but I’d rather give my family a tsp or 2 of sugar each if it means they enjoy a decent serve of a variety of veggies. You’d get more sugar from a serve of most yogurts, muesli bars, fruit juice, flavoured porridge sachets, or frozen yogurts. And a lot less vitamins and antioxidants than a stir fry. Choose your sugar wisely #chooseyoursugarwisely https://www.instagram.com/p/CBSUHiDAQV1/?igshid=yjcdcxxvrsll

24.01.2022 All or nothing, on and off thinking is just not helpful. How can you expect to always eat perfectly when we eat 3 meals and snacks everyday? To set perfection as a standard is to set yourself up for failure. And from failure comes self recrimination, regret, guilt. We can think I’m hopeless, it’s just too hard, I’ll never be able to eat healthy or lose weight - and that is the biggest loss of all. Not the couple of cookies! You can eat, and enjoy cookies or other treats in moderation, and still reach your goals. #enjoymoderationitsgrey https://www.instagram.com/p/B2IqV6vgRaC/?igshid=5xjf8autwno6

23.01.2022 You’re trying to lose weight and don’t want to cook two meals ... sound familiar? Here are some ideas; soups (pureed for the kids or with animal shaped pasta added), tacos made with a veggie and mince mix with shells for the kids and lettuce leaf wraps or salad for you, bolognaise on pasta or followed into a bed of zoodles or steamed veg, baked fish fingers and marinated fish fillet for yourself, scrambled eggs with toast for them and mushrooms + sauteed spinach + grilled tomatoes for you, chicken kebabs (kids love these!), homemade pizza on wholemeal wrap with extra veggies on yours, burgers with baked wedges for the kids and baked burger with salad for you, chicken stir fry with microwave rice for them, Slendier noodles/rice for you. #weightlossflexifamilymeals https://www.instagram.com/p/CEA44QfgKlx/?igshid=2qpq45f66ral

23.01.2022 National Nutrition Week is here! TryFor2and5 and make sure you are getting your 5 serves of veggies and 2 serves of fruit each day #Tryfor2and5 #NNW #NutritionAustraliaNSW https://www.instagram.com/p/B3lWPA6guqD/

23.01.2022 Foods that boost the immune system; veggies (as varied as possible), berries, matcha tea, protein such as chicken, fish and legumes, fish oil, garlic ginger and onion, chicken soup, a probiotic to keep the gut healthy (90% of your immune system). Minimise sugar, caffeine and alcohol. Get plenty of sleep and try to manage stress (!) Supplements such as zinc, vitamin C and Echinacea may help. Don’t forget vitamin D from the sun. #immuneboost https://www.instagram.com/p/B98V-SBgx8m/

23.01.2022 With everyone at home it can be hard to gauge how much food you need If you’ve gone a teensy weensy bit overboard with the grocery shopping not to worry! You can safely freeze yogurt for 2 months and milk for 3 months (remember liquids swell when frozen so you may want to pour a little out). Defrost for 24 hrs in the fridge - a little separation of each is normal, just give your milk or yogurt a stir. Hard cheese can be frozen for 6 months (often works better if grated first). Soft cheeses like ricotta or Brie can be frozen only if using them in cooking later as their texture can change. Don’t forget to label with the date. #freezeyourcheese https://www.instagram.com/p/B_EcDXjgEKN/

22.01.2022 With winter a couple of weeks away and the need to stay healthy (!) consider this - up to 40% of people in NSW may be vitamin D deficient. If you are inside most of the time, elderly or have dark skin you are more likely to be depleted. Vitamin D is essential for a healthy immune system. Eggs, liver, fatty fish such as salmon and herring, tinned tuna, some fortified plant milks such as soy and mushrooms which have been exposed to sunlight (they are often grown in the dark). Otherwise grab a few rays of sun most days of the week, or consult your doctor for a blood test and vitamin D supplement. #vitaminD https://www.instagram.com/p/CAbRN_HgjMK/?igshid=pgxwkeddje5w

22.01.2022 Always nice to see when a big company like Yoplait has our kids’ health as a priority - no sugar added yogurts which are lactose free. These will join Tamar Valley as the yogurts I give my kids. #nosugaraddedyogurts https://www.instagram.com/p/CEyqR-ugcN9/

22.01.2022 Dairy Myths ... dispelled by a strong body of research, courtesy of The Biting Truth #dairyforstrongbones https://www.instagram.com/p/B4CMQULAwjN/

22.01.2022 Lotsa veggies in this one ... roasted tomato sauce, mushrooms, eggplant and chicken lightly sautéed, top with mozzarella and basil. Simple, delicious and felt like we were dining out #lotsa veg #lightchickenparma https://www.instagram.com/p/B_wfwLQgCzx/

22.01.2022 Consults from the comfort of your favourite Bulk billed or via your health fund so NO out of pocket costs. Always wanted to improve your health but haven’t had the time? I’d love to help. #diettrumpsdisease https://www.instagram.com/p/B-InxUSAF9o/?igshid=jq3auarrrv88

21.01.2022 I ask you is there anything better than 8 hour slow cooked lamb. And the best thing is you throw in some garlic and rosemary, salt and pepper, a few cms of water, set at 130 degrees (fan forced) and forget. #meltingslowcookedlamb https://www.instagram.com/p/CACzQE0gLln/

21.01.2022 Intermittent fasting ... the majority of research (and observations with my own clients!) show it is no more effective than healthy balanced eating for weight loss, and a new study indicates significantly more muscle is lost compared to conventional weight loss methods. #IFforweightloss? https://www.instagram.com/p/CGZhvCfgyGy/

21.01.2022 Super plant products - fresh cauliflower mushroom mince from Woolies, and Beyond Burgers - these are the veggie burgers served at Grilled, and they taste AMAZING. They are made of high quality pea protein, are all natural and contain no nasties. A very large and recent study in the US showed that people who eat more plants tend to live longer with reduced incidence of diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Another good one to try - cauliflower, broccoli or sweet potato rice from the supermarket freezer. #plantpower https://www.instagram.com/p/B08MhcDAw-A/?igshid=5nyfai6xhum0

21.01.2022 Healthy school snacks can be hard to find! These new nut free (finally!) bars from Carmens are higher in fibre than most bars - great for kids as constipation is a common problem. The bars are also very low in sugar (less than 4 g) compared to most bars - possibly the lowest I’ve seen. But the final is from my kids - all said they tasted #carmensbarslowsugarhighfibre https://www.instagram.com/p/B8SArd_gNrD/?igshid=uu84jniq3oip

20.01.2022 We think of foods such as lemon, apple cider vinegar and kombucha as pretty healthy, but they are not kind to your teeth. Drinking warm water with lemon every morning sounds cleansing but your dentist will easily see small pits of acid wear on your teeth. Apple cider vinegar has a pH of 2. Battery acid has a pH of 1. Kombucha and other soft drinks can remove 18 microns of enamel from her teeth per can/bottle of drink. A dental professional removes just 6 microns when he cleans your teeth. Remember to rinse with water after consuming acidic foods and drinks, and DO NOT brush straight afterwards. #rinseafteracid https://www.instagram.com/p/B46GCHXgzMD/

20.01.2022 Comfort food ... sometimes it just can’t be beat. Curry with extra sauce and rice for us, homemade nachos for the kids. #everyoneneedsalittlecomfort https://www.instagram.com/p/B-rHyrrgrtA/

20.01.2022 Great advice on how to increase you plant based eating and thus boost your health and life expectancy from smh.com.au. In a nutshell make small changes to start with e.g. Meatless Monday, make plants the main dish and animal products the side dish, keep fruit, veggies and legumes front and centre in your fridge and kitchen so you don’t forget about them, planning and bath cooking helps, and find support - get the family involved or buy a new cookbook. https://www.smh.com.au//seven-strategies-to-put-your-diet- https://www.instagram.com/p/B1psa3pg4wO/?igshid=ln9tu8p3uofe

19.01.2022 Taco bowl an easy Saturday leftovers lunch #loveleftovers #tacoSaturday https://www.instagram.com/p/B8krPAkgnlE/

19.01.2022 More common than you might think. Consistent balanced eating and sleep will do wonders. #youonlygetonebody https://www.instagram.com/p/B1J8qe5Ahp0/?igshid=k54y6n8ohhho

19.01.2022 A little tired of companies selling kids snacks which are marketed to appear healthy. This one is basically potato starch and dehydrated potato, and oil with 1.5% powered veggies added. It is by weight 62% high GI carb and 29% fat. About as healthy as a bag of chips - which are also vegan and gluten free. #wholefoodsnotbagfoods https://www.instagram.com/p/CGeHkFvg1lE/?igshid=etuq9kmvsm8b

18.01.2022 QA - quarantine appetite! Kids have had Weetbix and fruit for brekky, then fruit with cheese and bagel, 11:30 snack of egg filled pita pockets, then wanted pasta with tuna and cut up veg for lunch! It’s just past midday and I’m thinking thank goodness I whacked some meat and veg in the slow cooker - easy dinner. #quaratineappetite https://www.instagram.com/p/B-VsEVCA0oG/

17.01.2022 Packed with protein, fibre and healthy fats and with a range of minerals such as calcium (almonds), iron (pumpkin seeds), zinc (cashews) and selenium (Brazil nuts). Ripley who eat nuts daily tend to live longer - I just love them as a snack, or on salads, stir-fries, soups, baked veggies, porridge or cereal, and smoothies. #nutsfornuts https://www.instagram.com/p/B5fPOYPAj5q/

17.01.2022 May I just say that these taste FANTASTIC Yes high fibre high protein 75% seeds and grains no added sugar ... did I mention they are delicious?? #camrenssuperseedgraincrackers https://www.instagram.com/p/CDsFOo3ATUM/?igshid=fgtt8o40h3wa

17.01.2022 Ready to feel better? Picture yourself in 3 years time ... how does that person feel, act and look? What’s their energy level like? Look around at your friends who are a few years older than you. Who bounces through life? Who drags themselves along? Make a start - pick two things to work on ... eating more veggies, drinking more water, 3 sessions of activity this week, going to bed earlier three times this week. Start NOW. Your body will thank you... and that feels great. #startnow#nobettertime https://www.instagram.com/p/B7KBuLHgCD4/?igshid=ftrxb9ck7t1r

17.01.2022 And now the slow cooked lamb is nachos ... shredded and cooked with onion, grated carrot and taco seasoning ... served with diced tomatoes, corn, cucumber ribbons and of course guacamole #twicetwiceslowcookedlamb https://www.instagram.com/p/CANDY9TAIOi/

16.01.2022 It’s a given we have to feed our kids. It’s also a given that after weeks of spending 3 meals a day cooking and making snacks for the rabid jackals we are just a teensy tiny bit done. I have taken to doing all my prep for the day at brekky - the chopping boards, knives and mess are out - so whether you know what you’re having that day or are winging it throw all the fruit and veg in the colander for a wash, chop some veggie sticks for snacks, cut up the broccoli for dinner, d...e husk the corn, slice the fruit for brekkie and morning tea, wash the lettuce so it has time to dry. I will sometimes cook the pasta or rice whilst we’re eating breakfast - done. Once the veggies are done chop the raw meat or chicken last. One prep, one wash up for the whole day. And maybe you can cajole/beg/threaten them to do the wash up #oneprepcook https://www.instagram.com/p/B_LwRcdAtyZ/

16.01.2022 Throw that half eaten can of beans, lentils or chickpeas on top of the veggies, drizzle with olive oil, chuck on some herbs and spices ... happy side dish or plant based meal. You can add chunks of tofu as well ... marinated or not. #beanshappy https://www.instagram.com/p/CDBCcXQAv8I/?igshid=xyp73ekvvccg

16.01.2022 I ask you - is this too much veg to squeeze into a cottage pie?? #cottagepieloaditup https://www.instagram.com/p/CB9MFNKA9sx/?igshid=vedoupv789t5

16.01.2022 The lowdown - chock full of oats and fibre (more than 2 slices of whole meal bread) low in salt and the tiniest amount of sugar I have seen in a muesli bar. And .... they taste GREAT. Yes, unbelievable. Did I mention low calories as well? Nut free, they do contain some dairy. #carmenschoccaramelaussieoatbars https://www.instagram.com/p/CCnL68nAEtb/

16.01.2022 New recommendations from the National Heart Foundation today based on the latest review of the best research available - if you are healthy, full fat cheese, milk and yogurt is OK, and you are no longer restricted as to the number of eggs you can eat. If you have heart disease or high cholesterol, then low fat dairy and 7 eggs a week is the recommendation for best heart health. Try having plant based protein such as lentils, beans, chickpeas and fish instead of red meat. #sciencekeepingushealthy https://www.instagram.com/p/B1bIJ24gUus/

16.01.2022 1930s, Glasgow - babies getting their dose of vitamin D. Even then it was recognised vitamin D was important for strong bones and muscles. Now we know it is also essential for optimal mood and reducing risk of dementia and boosting immunity. Those with higher levels of vitamin D appear to have a reduced risk for skin disorders such as psoriasis and eczema, lung infections (e.g. Covid), insulin resistance (pre-diabetes) and certain cancers. You are more at risk if you are between the ages of 18-45 yrs and live in the southern states of Australia. Good sources of vitamin D - eggs, butter or margarine, some soy or almond milks, liver, fish and seafood, mushrooms. #vitaminD https://www.instagram.com/p/CBHyRTUgz1m/?igshid=9ojbctel672x

16.01.2022 Nothing better than an ice cream on a hot day! And as the weather warms up the ice-cream we all knew and loved as kids is still a good choice ... made from skim milk and with 2.5 tsp sugar per serve (a Magnum has 5 or more tsp), Koala Paddle Pops also support our endangered and equally adored koalas. #paddlepops https://www.instagram.com/p/CHRTWJkgd7Y/?igshid=ni8c4ewi0c1j

15.01.2022 The fridge and pantry doors are getting a workout at the moment. But did you know the biggest predictor for self control is availability? So by having treats available as treats (ie not all the time) and in moderate portions (not family sized bags) you are doing yourself a favour. Consider changing how you eat - less running around may mean you just aren’t as hungry and can simply have 2-3 meals a day, and possibly a snack. Make healthy snacks easy eg fruit bowl, popcorn, ve...ggie sticks, high protein Greek yogurt. If you’re a grazer then make a plate of a few snacks for the day and put it on a plate in the fridge - that’s your grazing for the day. Make a point of eating only when you feel properly hungry. Have half a plate of veggies or salad at each meal and a small portion of carbs eg 1/2 cup rice, noodles or potato. Make a point of sipping alcohol slowly so it lasts at least 1/2 hr. Have proper mealtimes without screens. Find something else to do besides eating when you have a break. #putdownthefridgedoor https://www.instagram.com/p/B-wPvDhgMjC/?igshid=4ihta9y4d8kx

15.01.2022 Our every night dessert at the moment - mango nice cream. Blitz a frozen mango and a frozen banana, around half a cup of any milk - honestly the taste and texture is like the mango gelato you get at the end of your meal in an expensive Italian restaurant The kids beg for it, even the one who doesn’t eat mango (gasp) or bananas. A tip - sometimes I give the frozen fruit a blast in the microwave first to help the blender give a nice whipped texture. #mangoicecreamshake https://www.instagram.com/p/B7dUm_eAD0K/

14.01.2022 Ever felt that chalky feeling on your teeth after eating spinach? That’s calcium oxalate salts forming - spinach and these other veggies are a good source of calcium. But they are also a good source of oxalates which bind calcium and prevent our bodies absorbing this very important mineral. 2/3 of all Aussie women will develop Osteoporosis so it’s wise to consider calcium for strong bones. Dairy foods are an easily absorbable form of calcium, or try using fortified foods such as Aktavite or Milo, breakfast cereals such as Weetbix or Vitasoy, Aldi and So Good plant based milks. #thatchalkyfeeling https://www.instagram.com/p/CHY2XplgR_U/?igshid=9ktglyznhs35

14.01.2022 #telehealth https://www.instagram.com/p/B-_WJpyA9V4/?igshid=jdh52eem8x0r

14.01.2022 Sunday fry-up ... using up all the weeks onion garlic mushrooms carrot celery tomatoes, add some veto or beef or sausage mince, whack on low for an hour ... delicious. Add to baked potatoes, pasta, rice, or taco shells for weeknight dinner #sundayfryup https://www.instagram.com/p/CHUOTLDAYfY/

14.01.2022 An inspiring client today who I had one conversation with a year ago via her health insurance scheme. She made small changes one by one, and went from doing no exercise to reaching 5 km runs, reduced her sugar intake and cravings and her after dinner snacking, realised that often a more moderate portion is actually enough, and had halved her alcohol intake. Still enjoying life, just being more mindful - in fact enjoying it more and feeling great. #smallchangesgreatchange https://www.instagram.com/p/B52Atf8gVLm/

13.01.2022 And from earlier today ... smoked salmon risotto (tuna also works well) with steamed and mashed pumpkin and zucchini. Grains, protein, dairy and veg all in one. Monday dinner done but for baking #Sunday meal prep https://www.instagram.com/p/CDYi0eGAKkU/?igshid=dmlj3ghziaak

13.01.2022 Eat better, feel better - it’s one of the few guarantees in life. When buying groceries, what will you take home that will ensure you feel your best? Make the healthy decisions easy - have nutritious foods such as nuts, fruit, yogurt, popcorn etc available. Don’t use stress as an excuse for not looking after yourself - it’s even more reason. Ask yourself Am I really hungry? Why am I eating? Distract yourself and find other things to do during your breaks ... get some fresh air outside, go for a walk, ring a friend, chill out for a while, listen to some music or have a cuppa. #beyourbestself https://www.instagram.com/p/B_eyxE9AOAP/

12.01.2022 Ah mince! Is there anything it can’t do?! Extra lean mince is a top source of iron and protein, can be prepared ahead of time and even frozen for later, take on a range of flavours and is always a tasty hit. These lamb koftas and homemade sausage rolls were made with grated carrot, onion, mushroom and zucchini, herbs and spices, and are a handy bulk cook up! #minceme https://www.instagram.com/p/B4d91qBAjYS/?igshid=1ec7sf7vu6io

12.01.2022 Are you a kale worshipper? Did you know kale, broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts cauliflower and kohlrabi all come from the same plant? For 2500 years the wild mustard plant has been artificially selected to give us the so called cruciferous veggies we know and love today. Nutritionally, they are a group that when eaten regularly are known to reduce the risk of developing bowel cancer. #wildmustardgreens https://www.instagram.com/p/B4WlP_yANed/

12.01.2022 Try the Diabetes Kitchen for high protein biscuits, bars, chocolate, shakes and puddings - all sugar free of course! The Skinnybiks have been shown to actually reduce blood sugar levels. 10.01.2022 Feeling just average or blah is becoming the new normal. You deserve better. And guess what? Your body deserves better too. You live your whole life in it. Look after it, and it will let you do and achieve everything you want to. Life’s simply too busy and too short to feel just average. Choose one - go to bed earlier, drink more water, get half of plate of veggies into your lunch and dinner - and feel better. I feel wonderful when a client reports how improved they feel - and they feel even better. #yourbetterthanaverage https://www.instagram.com/p/B7sBj_Fgu4b/

10.01.2022 Finally sugar free no nasties ice blocks for kids. Made with natural colours and flavours. No artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners or preservatives. Gluten free and teeth friendly! #sugarfree-zies https://www.instagram.com/p/CBhDR21geUA/

09.01.2022 There is enough food for everyone. Panic only breeds more panic. Buying more simply means someone less fortunate than you is desperate and missing out. Make our ANZACS proud this year and honour what they stood for .... stand together and deplete this virus, not the supermarkets. Show that spirit. #together https://www.instagram.com/p/B93H2GTAdgC/?igshid=fnsrj3o1dv7k

08.01.2022 Extra virgin olive oil retains it’s health giving properties even when cooked for long periods and at higher temperatures. An essential part of the Mediterranean diet, olive oil contains more antioxidants than other edible oils and is defined as healthful by the European Union. #EVOO https://www.instagram.com/p/CAzPJPGgVLW/

08.01.2022 You can often find a gem leafing back through old cookbooks .... this is easy and delicious, and a good way to eat sausages - they flavour the veggies which give a healthy boost. #thanksbillsitalianfood https://www.instagram.com/p/CEyLGHXgYV3/?igshid=5n3uxls9z1eh

07.01.2022 Not enough. That’s the answer I often get when asking about a client’s water consumption. Check out these great apps to help you stay hydrated - iHydrate is great if you drink a variety of different drinks and Plant Nanny is the most fun! https://www.healthline.com//hydration-top-iphone-android-a #happyhydration https://www.instagram.com/p/CCZ6blQAiG6/

These new smoothies from Isagenix are high in protein, vitamins and minerals such as calcium, iron and vitamins C and D, are rich in fibre and good fats, contain fruit and veggie powders and contain 1 tsp sugar per serve. They come in strawberry and cookies n cream flavours, and are gluten free and suitable for those with lactose intolerance. I have no affiliation with Isagenix, just think these smoothies are great! 06.01.2022 Your body and your health are the most valuable things you possess. Are they worth the quick fix or an eating fad that’s seems too good to be true? The truth - nothing worth having is easy. But healthy balanced eating is not that hard either. Simple - lunch and dinner 1/2 plate veggies or salad, 1/4 plate carb and 1/4 plate your choice of protein. Treats 2-3 times a week. #yourtwofriendsbalanceandmoderation https://www.instagram.com/p/B8c29YpgoZk/

05.01.2022 Love a mince meal - whether it’s chicken, beef or vegan Quorn. It cooks quickly, it’s cheap and most of all versatile. Add whatever veggies you have (I used grated onion, carrot and zucchini, and chopped tomato, but try grated pumpkin or corn or peas or spinach leaves), add a can of mashed kidney beans, then herbs and spices such as cumin, coriander, paprika, then serve as a burrito bowl or San Choy Bau in lettuce leaves for the adults, and as nachos for the kids (even Mr Fussy who woofed down all that veg) or cottage pie or with pasta or cauliflower rice. Always make double, as it freezes very well for another meal. #dontmincewordsmincemeals https://www.instagram.com/p/B2T6qqOgvb9/?igshid=pxzxu0xnqhsw

03.01.2022 Think of hunger as a good thing. Hunger every 3-4 hours is often a sign that you are eating appropriately at each meal. People who never feel hunger often don’t know when to eat ... or when to stop. Hunger means your metabolism is working. It makes food taste better, and makes eating more satisfying. Hunger is your body’s signal that it’s time to eat. It can be psychological too - if you don’t notice your usual hunger when you are distracted or really busy or having fun, it can mean you are sometimes eating because you are bored, procrastinating or simply because the food is there. Being attuned to your body’s signals of hunger and satiety can help you manage your weight and improve your general health. #happyhunger https://www.instagram.com/p/B2EQNwkgU34/?igshid=shxph66iqwtq

03.01.2022 https://www.instagram.com/p/B-Eq_ISAfc_/

03.01.2022 Good habits, especially those which make you feel great are self perpetuating ... and can become as ingrained as poor habits ... like second nature. #goodhabits https://www.instagram.com/p/CIw8BRSAVMt/?igshid=y3furke9prp4

02.01.2022 We all know of someone with dementia and know the devastating effect it has on their quality of life, and their families. In a recent study people who ate the most vegetables and fruit reduced their risk of Alzheimer’s by 48%. Fruit, veggies and tea contain flavonol which is protective. #flavonolsforhealth https://www.instagram.com/p/B-Ecz3DAH_N/?igshid=qp7piseqfbh4

02.01.2022 Faux meat ... healthier than regular meat? Not so much if the product contains a long list of ingredients (oils, water, stabilisers, wheat, wheat gluten, thickeners, textured vegetable protein, smoke flavour, extracts, food starch, colours). Real food? These products are often highly processed, very often high in salt or sodium, and often with huge food miles if coming from overseas. I like the Eatwell or Macro burgers and sausages - mainly vegetables and with ingredients you can recognise. #realfoodvegan https://www.instagram.com/p/B9abKJYAzMf/

02.01.2022 These sweet potato crisps are best eaten by the handful - more delicate even than regular potato crisps, and one sweet potato makes a heap! Use a veggie peeler and whatever seasoning you like. Teamed with juicy pesto marinated chicken (thank you @sipalme for the basil!) #pestochicken #sweetpotatocrisps https://www.instagram.com/p/B-8eg2vAu-Z/?igshid=7a76h3yt75ek

01.01.2022 Based on Bill Granger’s Pear muffins .... made with a heap of leftover stewed imperfect apples, whole meal flour, oats, eggs and yogurt. I couldn’t be bothered making the topping so threw some granola on top. Check it out http://megannskitchen.blogspot.com//apple-pear-crumble-muf #applemuffins https://www.instagram.com/p/B_mY6yJAYsQ/
