25.01.2022 Valerie Winifred Munro was Matron of Carcoar Hospital for nearly 40 years until its closure. She attended the opening of the Carcoar Hospital Museum in 2011 and maintained a strong interest in it until her recent death - she visited the Museum with relatives early this year. Her death at 93 years of age on 10th April necessitated a private ceremony due to the Covid-19 lock-down, but her family intends to have a celebration of her life in Blayney at a later advertised date and there will no doubt be many stories to tell of her very full life. RIP Matron Munro.

17.01.2022 THE VOLUNTEERS AT CARCOAR HOSPITAL MUSEUM ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED TO HAVE TO ADVISE THAT THE DOWN TO EARTH GARDENING EXPO, TO BE HELD ON 26TH APRIL, HAS BEEN CANCELLED, DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. WE WILL LOOK FORWARD TO MAKING THE 2021 EXPO EVEN BIGGER AND BRIGHTER.

16.01.2022 On Saturday, a very different Anzac Day, let us all reflect and remember what others have sacrificed for our freedom.

15.01.2022 Stay well everyone and stay home. We will get through this.

15.01.2022 Due to the current Covid-19 concerns in our region, the Committee has decided not to open the Museum during January. We will be working behind the scenes to make your future visit even more interesting and look forward to announcing a re-opening date as soon as the situation eases.

08.01.2022 These two pages of information were compiled by Jill Cole, Secretary of Carcoar Hospital Museum. Two wonderful local women who served their country so well. Lest we forget.

07.01.2022 This exhibition will be well worth attending. Carcoar Hospital Museum and a Carcoar family have contributed items and we are looking forward to seeing the exhibition, which has been put together under very trying circumstances due to Covid-19.

06.01.2022 With the assistance of a Heritage Grant from Blayney Council and some donated pickets, a long hoped for replacement of the old metal fence along the car park has been completed today. We hope everyone is as pleased with it as we are.

05.01.2022 During this uncertain time Orange Regional Museum staff and consultants have been working hard on an exhibition which had to be postponed but is now looking good for a September opening. Carcoar Hospital Museum has lent two objects for the exhibition and the photos appear below. Get your thinking caps on and we'll see if you can tell us what they are.

05.01.2022 Carcoar Hospital Museum will remain closed for the time being. Displays cover many rooms and physical distancing and sanitation cannot be adequately monitored at the moment. The well-being of visitors and volunteers is a priority but we look forward to welcoming visitors again as soon as possible. Watch this space - we hope to see you soon.

02.01.2022 A very strong lady.

02.01.2022 For those who knew Matron Munro, here are the details of her memorial. Bookings must be made by 2nd October.

02.01.2022 Unfortunately this wonderful event has to be cancelled in 2021. We are still hoping that the Down to Earth Garden Expo to be organised by the Carcoar Hospital Museum Committee and friends will take place in April. Fingers crossed.
