24.01.2022 With the JobKeeper extension set to start from the 28th September 2020, it's important to remain up to date with the latest changes. Here we discuss the differences between the current program and V2.0 that will begin in a little over a week.

22.01.2022 It's been a while since we've posted here, with everything that has been going on the team has been heads down reading the constant updates on various COVID-19 related stimulus measures and assisting business's applying for them. As of last night, JobKeeper catchup payments can now be made until next Friday - 8th May 2020 for the first two fortnights. If you believe your business has experienced a drop in turnover of at least 30% in March or April, we may be able to assist with determining eligibility and applying for JobKeeper. Eligible business's will receive a $1,500 subsidy per fortnight for all eligible employees to assist with the cost of keeping them employed.

17.01.2022 Most small to medium business owners are very passionate about their businesses. Unfortunately, this passion and enthusiasm often goes un-rewarded, with many business owners not making the most of their opportunities due to a lack of planning and goal setting. https://www.chnpartners.com.au/are-you-making-the-most-of-/ #businessgrowth #businessplanning

17.01.2022 While our office is now closed due to Stage 4 lockdowns, our team has been working from home since mid March, so we don't expect too much to change on our end. You can still contact us on our regular office number - 03 9870 1300 - or email us at [email protected]. If sending mail to us it is imperative to use our postal address at PO Box 265, Ringwood, VIC, 3134. It may take a few days longer but we'll still receive it.... We will continue to keep you updated via our regular newsletter of the latest developments in JobKeeper legislation and the various concessions available (email us if you aren't receiving this and would like to). 17.01.2022 As a business owner, when considering purchasing or leasing a new vehicle, it is important to review the implications of purchasing in your own name vs your business name. If you use the vehicle predominantly for personal use, having it in the business name may lead to increased FBT or other business costs, while owners with a high business use may be losing out on deductible expenses if the vehicle is in their own name. Your accountant can provide the best advice and help yo...u make the right decision for your circumstances. https://chnpartners.com.au/services/business-advisory/ #businessvehicle #companycar #businessassets

13.01.2022 ATO introduces new measures to combat illegal Phoenixing. This term is used to describe the activity when a new company is created from the ashes of another company that was in debt and had been deliberately liquidated, only to continue the business of the old company while avoiding having to pay its debts. https://www.chnpartners.com.au/ato-introduces-new-measures/ #taxdebts #phoenixing #taxhelp

11.01.2022 Most business owners have issues with customers owing them money. This can be a real burden on the cash flow of your business and prevent you from reaching your growth goals. As a small business owner, it’s vital that you understand how debtors affect your daily operations and what you can do to reduce your debtors and improve your cashflow. https://www.chnpartners.com.au/are-you-being-a-bank-for-yo/... #cashflow #businessadvice #moneymanagement

11.01.2022 Inadequate receipt and record keeping is a common mistake that many business owners make. While that small piece of paper or email attachment may seem insignificant now, they can prove invaluable when subject to a review or audit. With records required to be kept for between 5 and 7 years (and in certain circumstances even longer), it is important that your business maintains accurate, accessible and legible documentation. https://www.chnpartners.com.au/... #bookkeeping #accountingservices #businessadvice

09.01.2022 By creating a specific strategic direction for your business it will help you to stay focused on the direction you want to take your business and give you a clear idea of what you need to be doing on a day to day basis. It can be a good to set yourself a three year business plan, then track your progress against this regularly to see if you're moving in the right direction. You can then see where you are at and what progress you've made, and modify the plan as necessary. https://www.chnpartners.com.au/ #businessplanning #businessgrowth #businessadvice

06.01.2022 Using financial projections even if your business is financially sound today. 06.01.2022 If you're self employed it's important to remember that just because you receive income from sales or services, doesn’t mean you can spend that money immediately. There may still be income tax, GST, PAYGW, superannuation all other general business expenses that need to be paid before determining your true profit. Often it is best to plan for these and put the money aside early, to avoid any nasty surprises down the track. What you save now will give you more flexibility in ti...mes when things get difficult. https://chnpartners.com.au #selfemployment #smallbuiness #businessadvice

05.01.2022 Cash flow is usually the most vital aspect of running a trade based business. In order to keep your cash flow healthy, you need to have a clear system in place for payment and collection, which can include invoicing on the job and sending invoices immediately. There are many systems available for tradies to use, but it can be confusing as to which one best suits your needs.
