20.01.2022 Very occasionally you get a happy surprise, as opposed to a nightmare to fix. This is one of those occasions and I’m doing a serious happy dance! Look at this gorgeous timber that was hiding underneath 5x coats of paint! Loving it! Still more sanding to go but can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.
19.01.2022 I picked up this monster (1800mm L x 900mm H), mid century piece a few months back for an absolute steal. Sanded the whole piece back, removed the glass doors, painted the frame and alcove black, white waxed the drawer and door faces and viola! A lovely statement piece to house the subwoofer (inside the alcove and disguised well) and sound bar for the new tv. I may add some detail to the 2x centre doors yet. Just letting it sit for the moment while I make up my mind.
19.01.2022 Finally picked up a brush again! This set of drawers is staying with me as a lamp table. I've added some gorgeous fabric on the drawer fronts, and the original hardware has been given some zing with gold wax. The body has been painted with Dixie Belle's "In the Navy" courtesy of Colour me Rust and Rose.

13.01.2022 Some of you may know that one of my other artistic pursuits is coloured pencil painting. This is a coloured pencil painting. I can only dream to be this accomplished one day. Isn’t he magnificent!!
13.01.2022 This poor old girl has had about 5 different lives. I’ve worked through white, pink, cream with some gold, grey and then shellac. First photo is after 2x bottles of paint stripper, so today out came the heat gun and scraper. Should have used it from the get go! Will finish stripping tomorrow if I can unclench my hand and straighten my back! She’s going to need some replacement timber, some glue and clamping, new hinges and other hardware (because that also has had 5 coats ...of paint all over them . Please don’t paint hinges and catches!) and I’ve got a nice new oval mirror for her. A lot of work, but she’ll be worth it! Navy and gold I’m thinking.

06.01.2022 Feeling a bit under the weather today, so it was a doing all those things that need doing, but don’t ever seem to get done day, with little inside jobs. 1st pic is some gold leaf happening on some artsy gifts. 2nd pic is building up layers of builder’s bog to create a new knob that had big chunks taken out of it. ... Both are very messy!!

04.01.2022 This set of lingerie drawers and side table is for my daughter. They’ve received an ombre of pinks, gorgeous floral transfer and new gold knobs to finish the set off. Coated in tough poly pink with some pearlescent added to catch the light with a little bling! ... For something extra special, I decoupaged hot pink tissue paper to the inside of the drawers and liberally applied hard wearing poly sealer. Let me know if you would like something similar. I do have a larger, bow front chest of drawers and side tables in stock
