25.01.2022 Confessions of a special needs mama: One of the hardest parts is that she cant tell me. Non-verbal does not mean unable to communicate, but it comes with ...challenges that require so much trial and error. The constant guessing game of trying to figure out what is wrong or trying to figure out what is needed/wanted can be so exhausting, frustrating, and at times can feel hopeless. There are times when Im holding her as she is crying in pain just wishing she could tell me what is wrong. Or even point to where it hurts. There are times where she gets so frustrated because Im not doing exactly what she wants and I just keep trying things until I possibly land on the magic number. Its so conflicting because it can make you feel so helpless, but at the same exact time it makes you feel an enormous weight to be the voice of your child. We are their voices, but please know its okay and even expected that we get some things wrong. We are human, and just trying the best we can. You will stumble in the dark. You will fall. But the important thing is that we keep trying, keep loving, and keep supporting our amazing children even when its hard. Dont forget to notice the laughs that communicate the joy. The little snuggles that communicate how much you are loved. The smiles that communicate happiness. Because THAT is what will keep you going. See more

Brisbane City Ipswich City Logan City Scenic Rim Somerset Region Lockyer Valley Moreton Bay Redland City The below measures come into effect immediately: Gatherings in private homes and public spaces will be restricted to a maximum of 10 people. These limits do not apply to businesses operating under a COVID Safe plan. Residential aged care and disability accommodation facilities have restrictions on visitors and residents leaving the facility Hospitals have been asked to restrict visitors as soon as possible Hospital emergency departments, aged care facilities and disability accommodation facilities will use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including face masks and gloves to treat all patients and residents.
