25.01.2022 I’ve been fortunate to meet some pioneers in the health industry but it’s not every day you get to meet someone who is changing the science books. On the weekend I met The Iceman Wim Hof, and began his training. Wim has shown to control his own autonomic nervous system which has helped him to achieve feats such as standing fully immersed in ice for almost two hours, climbing Mt Everest to 22,000 ft in a pair of board shorts and being injected with a neurotoxin and passing it through his system without experiencing the expected symptoms such as fever, sweats and aches. It is with these achievements that scientists have started studying the biological effects his methods are impacting and agreeing the text books need to be changed.

It is one of four muscles which comprise the rotator cuff. . The Teres minor, along with infraspinatus, primarily produces external rotation of the shoulder joint. It assists in adduction and extension of the shoulder. .... ORIGIN The upper two-thirds of the lateral border of the scapula. . INSERTION The upper fibres end in a tendon which inserts into the inferior facet of the greater tubercle of the humerus. The lower fibres insert into the humerus directly below the inferior facet of the greater tubercle of the humerus. . 13.01.2022 The suprascapular nerve is part of the brachial plexus, mostly C5 and C6. This nerve can become painful from movements such as carrying a heavy bag or lifting a heavy tool above the head. This can be in the form of a dull ache or a sharp pain at the top of the spinous process of the scapula. This is repeated on both legs and is not only beneficial for hamstring pain but also helps to take pressure off the sciatic nerve.

SEMITENDINOSUS It arises from the lower and medial impression on the tuberosity of the ischium, by a tendon common to it and the long head of the biceps femoris. It ends a little below the middle thigh in a long round tendon which lies along the medial side of the popliteal fossa; it then curves around the medial condyle of the tibia and passes over the medial collateral ligament of the kn...ee joint and is inserted into the upper part of the medial surface of the tibia. . SEMIMEMBRANOSUS It’s origin is the superolateral aspect of the ischial tuberosity and it inserts in the medial condyle and nearby margin of the tibia; intercondylar fossa of femur and lateral condyle of femur; and the ligament of the popliteal region. . BICEPS FEMORIS This has two heads of origin; one, the long head, arises from the lower and inner impression in the back part of the tuberosity of the ischium, by a tendon common to it and the semitendinosus, and from the lower part of the sacrotuberous ligament. The other, the short head, arises from the lateral lip of the linea aspera, between the adductor magnus and vastus lateralis, extending up almost as high as the insertion of the gluteus maximus. The fibers of the long head form a fusiform belly and receives the fibers of the short head and becomes gradually contracted into a tendon. It inserts into the lateral side of the head of the fibula, and by a small slip into the lateral condyle of the tibia. See more

04.01.2022 Could this be causing your back pain? The superior cluneal nerves arise from the posterior rami of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd lumbar spinal nerves. They innervate the skin of the superior and lateral parts of the buttocks. The superior cluneal nerves are prone to entrapment where they pass through the fascia near the posterior iliac crest. This can cause unilateral back pain.
