18.01.2022 COMMUNITY SCREENING PLAN: There's bad sickness going around Weipa, Napranum and Mapoon called 'Acute Post-Strep Glomerulo-Nephritis' or APSGN. This sickness can... cause sudden kidney trouble after infection with germs called 'Strep'. Health workers from Torres and Cape HHS will be visiting schools, kindergartens and childcare centres in the area from tomorrow (Wednesday 7 August) to check kids for symptoms of strep infection. You can see where they'll be on the table below If your child has puffy / swollen eyes or face, swollen feet, dark or red urine, skin sores or scabies itch, take them to your nearest clinic TODAY.
