19.01.2022 Australia, the fight is not over. We're excited to announce that we've joined forces this September with CCF certified brand Lush Australia, and anti-vivisection society, Humane Research Australia (HRA) to tell the Australian government - we want a comprehensive ban on cosmetics animal testing, and we won't stop fighting until we have it. From the 11th-22nd September, Lush stores across Australia (all apart from Victoria due to covid-19 store closures) will be spreading the c...ruelty free message, wearing 'The Fight is Not Over' badges, handing out Industrial Chemicals Act loophole information cards, and asking their customers to join our fight to ban cosmetics tested on animals in Australia! Can you help us speak out for the voiceless? We've put together a draft form that you can submit to your local MP to remind them that Australians want a comprehensive ban on the sale and importation of cosmetics tested on animals - with no loopholes. Our work is far from done, and we need your actions to continue the fight for our lab animal friends. Take action here www.choosecrueltyfree.org.au/cruelty-free-ban-testing-on-an

17.01.2022 Day 2 of #BeKindToAnimalsWeek! ADOPT YOUR NEXT PET Adopting a pet is one of the most beautiful acts of kindness we can do for an animal - rather than purchasing from a breeder. These animals may have come from hell; from laboratories, the greyhound industry or abusive or neglective households, and to end up with a loving family is a happy ending for them. Don't they all deserve that?... Here's some of the organisations we work with in Victoria and Australia: www.rabbitrunaway.org.au/ https://www.amazinggreys.com.au/ www.beaglefreedomaustralia.org/ www.beaglerescuevic.org/ www.ausrfs.org.au/rescueservice guineapigsaustralia.com.au/recommended%20rescues_1.htm There are many more. Tag your favourites below so we can share the love, and remind your friends and family to adopt next time they are looking for a new loving family member https://www.choosecrueltyfree.org.au//be-kind-to-animals-w

17.01.2022 Today is International Primates Day. And unfortunately this year, the same as years gone by - we are still fighting to end cruel and unnecessary tests performed on primates. In February 2020, we reminded you that baboons, macaques and marmosets are being bred in Australia and tested on, with Australian taxpayer dollars through the National Health and Medical Research Council. Find out more and how to take action here http://bit.ly/393uHgf Today, our friends at Humane Resea...rch Australia and Action for Primates UK is shedding light on a cruel experiment in Oregon, USA for the purpose of human infant formula that is already on the market. 23 Rhesus Macaques were used in the study which was funded by Abbott Nutrition and the US National Institutes of Health. Take action and call upon Abbott Nutrition to end funding and involvement in research on monkeys https://bit.ly/32HuFbQ "International Primate Day is a day of recognition for our closest relatives. Researchers will often try to justify using non-human primates in research by arguing how similar they are to people. It is, however, precisely these similarities that make their suffering and use so unjustifiable. Like people, non-human primates carry with them the underlying abilities to feel pain; to suffer; to experience anxiety, fear and depression; to show signs of experiencing joy or enjoyment; to provide human-like care for others of their own kind. They are our closest biological relatives in the animal kingdom and to treat them in this way is totally unacceptable." - Humane Research Australia Inc

06.01.2022 Fur coats, trim, toys and accessories continue to be stocked and sold by Australian retailers. With so many humane alternatives available, why consumers still support this inherently cruel industry is a mystery to most. . But today, we have a good news story. One of our supporters, Brianna has used her individual power to influence others, and create change for animals. Brianna created a petition to ask Temple and Webster to stop selling rabbit fur within their product ran...ge, received over 800 signatures from consumers that #saynotofur and passed it onto the company, asking them to discontinue their range of cruel products. They agreed after seeing so many voices that were unhappy with their range, and took all the products off their website. Huge thank you to Brianna, and everyone that signed the petition. You spoke up for animals and your voices were heard! . Do you know retailers in Australia who are still using fur? After you make your own complaint to the retailer, send your photos and any contact details you have to us by e-mail and we’ll also get in touch with them, add them to our Say No to Fur page, and ask them to join the #furfree movement: https://bit.ly/3jxgYmm See more

01.01.2022 In Melbourne and around the world - today we are all mourning. For the loss of Anthony Van Dyck, a preventable loss; but one we see occur in horse racing every single season. One racehorse dies every three days on Australian racetracks. This is not okay, it is not a cause for celebration, and it does not warrant the marketing of 'the race that stops a nation.' It is outdated and cruel, just like animal testing. The cruel 'sport' does not belong in Australia anymore. Choose Cruelty Free have and always will, say #NupToTheCup
