24.01.2022 I felt my heart drop a little when I first saw this poor guy. Proper management by qualified Farriers is so important. This case was brought to me this past week with Acute Laminitis due to poor management and backyard trimming skills. This is unacceptable !!

"My last farrier said he's never driven a hot nail." Without telling you what I think of these comments, I'll just leave this picture of a healthy foot here and you can decide how much wiggle room your farrier has when nailing, especially if you have a poor footed horse. 15.01.2022 This case arrived to me this mornin from injune . Bowed hind tendon o/h Previously shod elsewhere with wedged egg bars . N/h loading severely on heels. O/h shod in victory elite 2 degree wedge. I/h shod in gin hung h/bar with puddy elastima to disperse weight through out the foot . And eliminate loading up heels.

11.01.2022 This case was presented to me today with some stifle issues . Apon assessment the large scar on the o/f caught my eye . One might think the transfer of weight to the opposite and the diagonal limbs over a long period of time during an injury like this would likely cause some issues. The hinds (especially the diagonal of the affected) were severely broken back (slam dunk ) whatever u wish to call it . With a slight rocker , " lightly " flattening the heels and removing toe from the widest point forward an acceptable dorsal palmar angle is achieved . The shoe is nothing flash just slightly rugged and put in the right spot. My point is it's not rocket science just good mechanics in The trim . With this angle achieved it relieved joint pressure right up the Limb . Resulting in stifle soundness. Hopefully!

10.01.2022 Plenty of growth and a decieving surface crack revealed a seedy toe pocket. Exposed to air n free from bacteria . Hopefully will help condition. Also client happy to pack Copper Sulphate/Vaseline.

10.01.2022 This acres colt camp horse has had sl navicular changes to the o/f . I've shod this guy for the past 6 mths or so with 3degree wedged Alluminiums with great results. Due to stock shortage , tried something a little different. Comment if u wish . Pros n cons..?

09.01.2022 This is cool our student was pulling a shoe off a cadaver leg and the whole hoof capsule came off in one easy pulling of a nail.. What's interesting is the thr...ush between the bulbs is going right through .. it wasn't torn at all I could stick a E10 nail right through it .. do we take thrush too lightly?? See more

08.01.2022 Some sexy high heels for a low heeled horse that tended to want to touch down behind last prep. With a positive palmar angle in mind with correct trimming , elevation , support and increased breakover this preparation , so far so good. No sore bumpers.

03.01.2022 Not the best confirmation I've seen but this 5 yr old qtr horse gets the job done. Considering the severity of limb deformity and the horses age , little can be done to fix this issue. Correct medial /lateral balance and support is vital to this athletes potential and soundness .
