23.01.2022 First day back in the studio after a month away up in the north west of our beautiful state . I thought it best to do a small study of this scene down in Dales Gorge, Karrajini, before starting the major work. Lots to resolve and refine before starting the larger piece but i feel its headed in the right direction. Lots to come

23.01.2022 A section of my latest work in progress. Lots still to work out on this one.

23.01.2022 I put my rock pool painting aside for now and have started another challenging piece. Hard to say yet if can get it to turn out the way envisioned.

22.01.2022 After struggling the last few weeks to come up with a concept for an artwork i was happy with im really excited about this piece. It is of smiths beaches northern end on low tide at Yallingup in western Australia. It was such a spectacular scene and i really wanted to capture that bright glistening atmosphere that is so typical of our west Australian coastline.

20.01.2022 My latest pastel of Boranup forest. With this piece i wanted capture the immersive feel of this forest with the tree filtered light pushing in from behind the trunks putting the viewer in the shade of these giants. This piece will be heading to Yallingup gallery in the next few weeks.

19.01.2022 Working on a piece im so excited about. This current work in progress is of a cave i found at eagle bay rotto. It required a fair bit of climbing to locate but i was rewarded with this cave that reaches out into the depth. Still have quite a bit of work to do before its finished

18.01.2022 My latest artwork of Hellfire bay in Esprence. Just loved the way the waves would roll out of the deep and around the rock and into the shallows. This piece is on its way to Yallingup gallery.

13.01.2022 I have started working on some smaller artworks/studies. This one is of dales gorge Karijini. Its always a little tricky to find the balance between detail and keeping artwork loose and organic. Its especialy tricky when pasteling away on a piece this small of something as epic as Karijini. Hope you like it cheers

12.01.2022 Work in progress I have always loved the way some of the shallow reef at Rottnest reaches out into the crystal clear water in thin sheets. This structure creates a unique aquatic environment which is incredible to paint. This piece of reef can be found in the sheltered waters of stark bay.

11.01.2022 My latest pastel of the lower tidal estuaries of big lagoon in shark bay is ready for framing. This place is only accessible via kayak as areas are either to shallow or to thin for larger vessels. This means this environment is virtually un touched and full of aquatic life. It was an amazing experience riding the tide up the mangrove lined estuary watching the fish scurry under the reflections to the safety of the deep pools and mangroves.

11.01.2022 Still going on this artwork of lucky bay in Esprence. I feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful country.

10.01.2022 First artwork from my trip to Rottnest last week. This one is of the eastern end of longreach bay. This end of the bay is magic at sunrise as the play of light is incredible.

09.01.2022 Pastel artists are the masters of not touching ones face. I practice 6 to 8 hours a day

09.01.2022 Im really thrilled to be able to travel to Rottnest island again. This is a commissioned artwork for a client that has been so understanding as it was commissioned over 3 months ago.The piece had to be something that couldn't be mistaken for anywhere else but Rotto so i decided to go for the scene that i haven't done in years. I knew I had to bring something new with this piece so tried some new techniques in the foreground water incorporating foam , shadow, and waves in crystal clear water. Im pretty excited about how it turned out and hope it was worth the wait for her

08.01.2022 Another little artwork fresh out of the studio today. This one is of the pool at the bottom of the fortescue falls in Karijini just after sunrise.

06.01.2022 This is my latest pastel of House beach, Bremmer bay. I was lucky enough to spend new years eve here. Possibly one of Western Australia's best beaches.

05.01.2022 Current work in progress. This scene is from my recent trip to the south coast of western Australia.

05.01.2022 Its been a tough week in the studio however this piece is starting to come together. I have always loved walking to the top of the dunes in the morning and looking out over the ocean . Judging by the footprints i am not alone in this pastime.

03.01.2022 My artwork of parakeet bay Rottnest just finished. The colors in the water were electric in this bay on my last trip.Really wanted to capture the transitions from fluorescent orange to tourquoise along with the playful movement of the clear water. Wishing everyone well

03.01.2022 Finally im very excited to have my latest artwork of Boranup forest finished . What started off as a simple idea became far more complex than i had anticipated. Every detail to be perfect with the surrounding karri trees emerging from the forest yet still presenting this mighty karri tree as the hero of the artwork. This piece is heading to the beautiful Yallingup galleries in Yallingup. I can't think of a better place for it to go than the corner of our state that inspired the piece.

03.01.2022 Finally finished this pastel of an area just north along the beach from canal rocks in the beautiful south west. Matt and myself had been waiting all afternoon for the light to be just right and just as we were ready leave we found this beautiful spot full of drama an atmosphere So much going on in this piece a had be very careful not to focus on every single rock but instead focus on the atmosphere and larger structures within the piece. I found this a challenging yet enjoyable subject. Hope you like it

03.01.2022 This is my latest artwork of cape Kerauden. This mangrove inlet and peninsula at the beginning of 80 mile beach in our north west. I wasn't sure what i would find there on my first visit to the area but i was totally captivated the crystal clear tidal pools amongst the mangroves and at sunset the filtered light and atmosphere was incredible. It was a tricky subject to capture this light and atmosphere but im happy to have given it a go.

03.01.2022 latest artwork "The cave"bay Rottnest is pretty much finished. I had procrastinated about doing this piece for roughly two months placing it in the too hard basket.Im glad i did it now after deciding art is not worth doing if its not challenging. Big thankyou to all that have been sharing and supporting my work the support means so much.

03.01.2022 Busy day today working on this piece. Lots still to go and resolve.

02.01.2022 Huge week this week getting ideas and images together for my joint exhibition at Yallingup galleries Easter exhibition. Back to the studio for now Big thanks to Matt Skelleren for the company and photographic advice .

02.01.2022 This is my third attempt at this Dale gorge Karrajini. I thought it best to start with a small study and that turned out great little did know how difficult the major work would be. Everything from the shadows to each blade of reed was a challenge. I think its as far as i can take this subject for now.
