25.01.2022 I passed my CoC!! First milestone down, now onto the exciting task of research! Had the best sleep in ages - feeling so much better now!

24.01.2022 It's 2.30 in the morning. The room is dark and the baby is sleeping (for now!). I'm in my pyjamas hunched over my laptop, on the floor trying to complete a document before the sun rises (because the deadline is looming!), furiously fighting the fatigue that beckons me to the bed. It's moments like these that I have to hold on with all my might, to my dream of achieving a PhD. I can see the cap and gown, the thick and heavy thesis complete and bound, my face beaming with pride (and relief) that I did it! Just keep swimming! One step at a time. One SENTENCE at a time! I can do this. My baby is so young that she and I are still "one". We are two parts to one whole - a "dyad". We are inseparable. Although in many ways she makes this so hard I just can't hold it against her. We are a team. We can do this together... And we will!!

15.01.2022 Hi everyone, I now have ethics approval to begin recruiting participants for my qualitative study. I am looking for first-time mothers aged 18-24 years old who have given birth in the past 6 months. Interviews will be held at Western Sydney University (Campbelltown Campus), but Zoom is available as an alternative if travel is an issue. The study is exploring experiences of young mothers and their infant feeding choices. Please share with your colleagues, networks and friends. Thank you for your support! :)
