22.01.2022 Spinning: John Lennon's iconic peace loving LP, Imagine (1980) What a true masterpiece for the ages . Everybody knows the classic titled track, ofc, but this LP has some of the best song-writing that has ever come to music history ; I DON'T WANT TO BE A SOLDIER, MAMA, I DON'T WANNA DIE taking on society's expectations of the men and women in that day of age, IT'S SO HARD taking on Lennon's personal life problems and struggles which he had to face in his everyd...ay life, and GIMME SOME TRUTH taking on the horrible wars and events that were happening at the time of the songs release in protestant anger. This album is still relevant to this day, but especially now with lockdown and the horrible disasters happening in the world; especially in my hometown of Perth with the Perth Peel and regional bushfires . As Lennon himself would say, "Imagine there's no countries. It isn't hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too. Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. Never thought to see the day that I would have this great movie soundtrack on vinyl record !!! This movie brought so many good and sad moments for me as it truly was a childhood classic for me .
