Live-streamed services can be viewed on Facebook or YouTube. For information regarding CCSL live-streams please go to: ccsl.org.au/watch/ The service sheet with the hymns included can be downloaded from the parish website: www.ccsl.org.au To support the ministry of CCSL, please go to: www.ccsl.org.au/support-us/

25.01.2022 We have been back for term 3 with a Hybrid Sunday School social distancing for students present and Zoom link up via their devices and my phone on a music stand, kudos to the children for facilitating this so well. (Children from the same household aren't required to social distance)

23.01.2022 One of choral scholars, Ria Andriani, explains how she reads music via Braille - something she does every Sunday at CCSL with great skill.

21.01.2022 And we're back! Sunday School will resume in person for term 3 this coming Sunday, the 26th of July at 9am. A Zoom link will also be available for those wishing to join virtually. Covid-safe practices will be in place, so a few things will look a bit different but expect the same fun and friendship as always, whether we're meeting virtually or in real life.

14.01.2022 On Sunday, we celebrate the 175th anniversary of Dedication. Dedication is usually celebrated with the annual orchestral mass. Although an orchestral mass is not possible this year, we will still have special music on Sunday. Following the success of our commission to Joseph Twist to compose a mass setting suitable for one or two singers, the Director of Music asked Oscar Smith to write a setting of the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis, the canticles sung at Evensong. Oscar has ...been a choral scholar at CCSL for the past two years, singing alto in the Evensong choir. This year, he was one of the cantors for the sung passion gospel on Good Friday. He also sings at St Andrews Cathedral and occasionally and St Marys Cathedral. Oscar is a graduate in composition of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and will shortly be departing Sydney for Canada, where he will begin postgraduate study at the University of British Columbia in ethnomusicology. Oscar has completed the commission in record-time and it will be sung for the first time at Evensong for the Feast of Dedication on Sunday 13 September. Oscar has paid tribute to the strong tradition of plainsong at CCSL in his work, weaving the plainsong setting of Laurentius into the piece. This commission has been supported by St Laurence Music Inc and we acknowledge the generosity of those who make this endeavour possible.

13.01.2022 Tomorrow we resume our long-standing service schedule, including a proper Solemn High Mass at 10.30am (live-streamed), complete with congregation. We look forward to welcoming the Rev Rosie Wynter as our guest preacher. The restoration of our marble floors was completed during the past week, and we welcome back our much-loved thurible, which has also been undergoing repairs and restoration. We thank generous members of our serving team for funding this process of restoration.... The 10.30am High Mass can be viewed live on Facebook or YouTube. 11.01.2022 Junior High had a great time brainstorming our Christmas project on Sunday. #SundaySchool

10.01.2022 And were back! Sunday School will resume in person for term 3 this coming Sunday, the 26th of July at 9am. A Zoom link will also be available for those wishing to join virtually. Covid-safe practices will be in place, so a few things will look a bit different but expect the same fun and friendship as always, whether were meeting virtually or in real life.

09.01.2022 Today (10 September) is the 175th Anniversary of the consecration of our much-loved church building. Bishop William Grant Broughton consecrated the church in 1845 with due reverence and ceremony. Owing to COVID, our 175th celebrations will be rather restrained by CCSL standards. However, we will celebrate the Feast of Dedication this coming Sunday, with services at the usual times. As a 'dedication gift', today we share a video of the first Orchestral Mass at CCSL. This video was broadcast on the ABC in 1977. Although the church looks dark (and television production has come a very long way!), the musical and liturgical traditions of CCSL are largely unchanged to the present day.

04.01.2022 From the youth ministry blog this week, what the feeding of the 5,000 might be saying to disciples, then and now. If you're curious about what sort of bread they ate in biblical times, you can try making your own with a recipe from a Roman author published in 164BC-hands on history! Plus you can see what it would have looked like thanks to the discovery of a bakery, with a loaf in the oven preserved by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in AD79, it even bears the imprint of its maker. https://ccslyouthblog.wordpress.com//28/from-little-things/

03.01.2022 On the youth ministry blog this week, thinking about the women who saved Moses and a fun craft to remember the story. https://ccslyouthblog.wordpress.com/2020/08/21/saving-moses/
