25.01.2022 Hey everyone! Please help support Warrnambool to be represented by a top ranking player at the upcoming 2016 Australian Open. It takes but a few minutes and every registration helps our ranking! Registrations close this Saturday so please sign up today!

25.01.2022 If you are not on the courts today, you should be! A lovely overcast day with minimal wind and a moderate temperature to keep you cool while you're getting warmed up on the courts. With the start of the holiday season just around the corner we wanted to thank you all for your prayers and thoughts for our club member Brian as he returned to Warrnambool with his family. Brian is looking in good health and we hope that he returns to the courts with his racquet in hand soon. With only a few more days in November we also wanted to give a very late push to David, Glenn and Brian as they grow out their facial hair in support of Movember. Please donate generously to these great blokes as they attempt to raise awareness and funds for such a great cause. You can donate to http://mobro.co/davidhetherington124

21.01.2022 Thanks Aaron Bosse for inviting us along to experience the new Fast4 Tennis Format. We are looking forward to introducing this at our club next year so please watch this space for more information as it comes through. Fast4 Tennis will be launched early next year with top ranking players from around the world giving all of us an introduction to how it is played and scored. Like 20/20 Cricket created some rejuvenated hype around the sport, so will Fast4 Tennis do the same for tennis.

20.01.2022 Photos thanks to Rachael from last weekend as we enjoyed a mild sunny day playing tennis.

16.01.2022 Just wanted to thank everyone that registered for the Free Tennis Day campaign late last year. After all our efforts here in Warrnambool, our town has been awarded a main draw player to cheer on at the Australian Open 2016 this year! WE HAVE SERENA WILLIAMS! We ask that as a community that we show our support for Serena Williams as she makes her way through the Grand Slam in any way that we can. Tennis Australia would also like to hear and see what we are doing during the Aus...tralian Open 2016. They encourage every Warrnamboolian to send through any high resolution images to [email protected] or share them on social media using #ausopen. Please download and print the attached flyer and upload a photo of yourself in interesting places around Warrnambool to show Serena Williams a little of our home town. If you have a twitter account, please send Serena your kind words of encouragement @serenawilliams to support her to another victory at this year's Australian Open. Instagrammers please follow her @serenawilliams and send her photos of yourself with the printed banner in places of interest around Warrnambool. Let's all do our part to cheer on our 2016 Australian Open Warrnambool representative and enjoy this year's summer of tennis.

15.01.2022 Hey everyone! Welcome to the New Year of 2016. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and that you'll are all now enjoying the fantastic summer of tennis that we're having in Australia. Just wanted to let you all know that we are having a brief club meeting this Saturday the 9th of Jan at the club at around 2pm. Tennis from usual at 1pm with a small break for the club meeting. Please come along if you can. We will be discussing the upcoming FAST4 TENNIS competition as w...ell as scheduling a day and time for a working bee in preparation for the competition. We'd love you all to be there and would appreciate your input and suggestions on the future of the club. See you all then!

12.01.2022 Thanks to everyone that came along to the meeting this afternoon. Some great points of discussion and interest were brought up during the meeting. Just a quick re-cap: * We received our official Australian Tennis Open 2016 (AO 2016) towel in recognition for hosting our "Tennis Open Day for Seniors" earlier this year during the Victorian Seniors' Week. This towel will become part of a raffle prize.... * We are having a small fundraising raffle in which the AO 2016 towel will be a prize. We kindly ask that all members donate an item to become part of a larger prize pool. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase with all money raised going back into the club for future projects. * Plans for Community Hot Shots to commence in January are in discussion. We are seeking volunteers that may be able to assist with kids commencing or further developing their tennis skills. Working with children check is preferred. Please message us here through our Facebook page or alternatively call/text message our listed phone number. We hope to have more information on this after the Christmas period. * Ongoing discussion regarding obtaining grants and funds to facilitate an upgrade to the lighting of courts 2 and 3, to encourage longer playing hours during the winter months. We are seeking quotes from any local businesses that could potentially upgrade our current court lights. Please contact us via our Facebook page or alternatively call/text message our listed phone number. Once again thank you to all that were present for today's meeting. If you missed out, hopefully you were brought up to speed with the above re-cap. Hope to see you all on court during the week

12.01.2022 Club member David went along with fellow Warrnambool representatives to demonstrate Warrnambool's support for #SerenaWilliams at this year's Australian Tennis Open. Go #SerenaWilliams #ausopen

10.01.2022 Hey everyone! Don't forget about our breakup get together tonight!

09.01.2022 Sorry everyone that I have been away from posting about tennis days and activities at Christ Church Tennis club. My return to Uni has kept me busy but I’m back now and ready to keep you all updated. So what a weird and wonderful start to the spring weather here in Warrnambool. We have been enjoying a wonderful mix of some sunny afternoons and some overcast afternoons but thankfully, we have played through any minor rain interference. So this weekend is the Indian festival of... Diwali and of course the American Halloween (which we’ve adopted down under). If you’re not celebrating either of these why not head down to the Christ Church Tennis club and have a hit of the yellow fuzzy this Saturday from 1pm onward (usually till about 6pm). Fingers crossed we will have some nice sunny weather to play all afternoon long. Have a spootackularly bright weekend! Image used from http://tennisfixation.com/happy-halloween-tennis-fans.html

07.01.2022 "It's the most wonderful time of the year!" Yes Summer is just around the corner . . .BBQs, Christmas and Tennis! What could be better? So please come and join us on Saturday the 10th of December for our Christmas break up get together (and pray for good weather). Please BYO some snacks, drinks, BBQ meat or salads to share. Tennis per usual from 1pm onward and we'll break in between sets for some festive fun. Please come along and don't forget to bring your racquets too!... 07.01.2022 Well done Federer and Nadal on a fantastic championship match last night. Congratulations to you both on making it to the finals and for giving the whole world an epic battle of skills to watch. We look forward to seeing you both capitalise on your experience at the Australian Open and go further in all the tennis events you'll participate in this year.

06.01.2022 Last Saturday, Christ Church Tennis Club bid farewell to life member Phil Doheny and his wife Barb, as they transition their lives from Warrnambool to Portarlington. Phil began his time with the tennis club back in 1962 and had been an active member with the club up until the last couple of years, due to health reasons. He achieved life member status in 1980, and had been playing tennis well into his late 70s and early 80s frequenting the courts on Saturday afternoons for a s...ocial hit of tennis. Last Saturday, many of Christ Church’s tennis club members (former and current) gathered at the club house (despite the very hot weather) to share in afternoon tea and exchange fond memories of their time on the courts with Phil over the years. While Phil and Barb will be greatly missed, we wish them every happiness as they embark on a new adventure in Portarlington.

06.01.2022 Thanks to The Warrnambool Standard for running this promotional piece about the Tennis Open Days and Warrnambool's success in attaining Serena Williams to cheer on in the coming 2016 Australian Tennis Open. #ausopen #serenawilliams #warrnambool3280 #tennis http://www.standard.net.au//3655685/serena-plays-for-war/
