23.01.2022 Rugby is a sport that has been in the blood of Christ since 1847, yesterday due to a few unfortunate injuries in the days leading up to Rugby we had to forfeit the Boys games. But, luckily our Girls still had the numbers to play and every single one of them went out their and gave it everything they had and kept the spirit of Christ rugby alive. Unfortunately the Girls were unable to pick up the win, but more importantly we are proud of everyone who stepped up to represent Christ. So thank you. Also congratulations go out to @johnfisher_college. #themightyblackpigs #oinkoink @ UTas Rugby Oval

22.01.2022 Over the last few months two fierce Christ College rugby teams have been training hard and playing harder. It all came to a head the Sunday before last, with both mens and womens teams giving @_janefranklinhall_ some fierce competition in the finals, and delivering some incredibly good games. While both games were tight, full of brutal tackles and masterful plays, neither team managed to secure the win at the end of the day. 14.01.2022 Christ College is joining the Australian Red Cross Blood Services group donation program to help achieve 25 per cent of the countrys blood donations. There arent many jobs where you can save three lives by spending an hour relaxing and receive free food at the end. For many people, donating blood is both easier and more rewarding than theyd imagined, and its even better when you do it with your fellow piggies. One in three people will need a blood donation during their... lives, and it might surprise you to know that only 2 per cent of donated blood goes to trauma or car accident victims. Around one third of donations help people with cancer and the rest go towards treating serious medical issues ranging from pregnancy complications to immune conditions and heart disease. Thats why Christ College has joined Red25. Red25s ambitious goal is to unite organisation across Australia to donate 25 per cent of the 1 million-plus blood donations needed every year. And with 25,000 donations needed every single week, Christ College is encouraging all staff to get on board. Once youre a member of Red25, any donation you make is added to your groups tally. Anyone can view the tally at donateblood.com.au/red25, meaning you can easily compare our groups tally to others part of Red25. Because even though we know its about saving lives, whats life without a little healthy competition? *cough wanna beat Fisher and Jane? cough* For Christ College, Red25 is a chance to stand out by making a donation more powerful than money. For you, its a chance to feel amazing for saving lives through a simple act thats both free and fulfilling. To get involved, go to donateblood.com.au/red25 and join the University of Tasmania Christ College group.
