22.01.2022 Renovations at the shop are coming along great, we finally removed the ugly 1980’s tiles in the reception and had the floors rough ground & clear coated. Interestinglybenough years of oil spills has seeped through the grout leaving shadows of the old tiles. The camera really doesn’t do it justice, it’s actually quite a nice effect in person

22.01.2022 A little bit of machine tool reconditioning on Josh's 1709 DSG Toolmakers lathe. The process is called hand scraping, something I went to Denmark earlier this year to learn, neat little video below Stefan took during the class below. https://youtu.be/pO9GW0tAOIQ?t=480

19.01.2022 Heavy duty adapter I turned and Milled tonight for a 2-9/16" auger drive so a Farmer down south can use 2" augers, Not often I get to make tooling for auger drives this small. Certainly much more pleasant to load bar this small into the lathe.

14.01.2022 Welcome to my machine shop, I hope you like BBQ's and fairy lights

10.01.2022 I swore off any more scraping classes until I've got my shop cleaned up but a customer was desperate to get his new mill running because he had jobs waiting, he rocked up early yesterday morning with his mill on a trailer and we worked till midnight to get it roughly scraped in and rebuilt. incredible amount of rust in the X axis saddle ways and some light galling in the Y axis. if Alex had you used the mill as is, it would have been a nightmare to use and it would have worn itself to all hell.

09.01.2022 just a few pictures from the rebuild

08.01.2022 10 minutes into explaining step scraping and Guy still couldn't bring himself to interrupt me and let me know that the burrito I'd eaten beforehand was the straw that broke the camels back and had launched the button off my pants into high orbit.

07.01.2022 First test run of a lovely knitting machine, likely 1900-1940’s but we’ve yet to establish a date of manufacture. The customer brought it in a badly damaged state after he could no longer purchase the knitted yarn for the head wraps he makes.
