This large 10 seater dining table was constructed for the final apartment completed by all of the contestants. @normandjess asked us to make this as they were allocated living and dining. The table was made using light coloured Victorian Ash timber. The tables U Base design makes sitting extremely comfortable. 21.01.2022 This dead log is in the process of being milled by a @lucasmillworldwide. The log was cut from a tree felled for road clearing. I guess roads are important but its so unfortunate that such a magestic tree must be lost because of human population. This log will be sliced into 60mm thick slabs. These slabs are carefully stacked & air dried for at least 1 year then slowly dried in a kiln until perfectly seasoned to the ideal moisture content used in timber furniture or architec...tural joinery. Approximately 11-12% moisture content. This ensures minimal timber movement thus ensuring the structural integrity of the finished product. 12.01.2022 We thought wed share a few photos of our custom bus. A few years ago after a disastrous camping expedition I (Fiona-Christians wife cracked it & declared I was over my camping days. Coinciding with that declaration a mate of ours who owned Cooma Coaches offered us the deal of a lifetime. It was a decommissioned, 40 foot long, Hino school bus. We completely gutted the interior and in its place designed and constructed a luxury motor home. Using French Oak recycled from 10...0 year old wine barrels, metres of copper, steam bent American Walnut and hand made sea grass wallpaper we put our own touch on it. Literally hundreds of hours of work. The bus has a Smeg oven and fridge. Microwave and washing machine. Bathroom is fitted out with shower and toilet. The kitchen has been constructed using Maple and American Walnut timber. Splash back using hand made Italian tiles. It is heated and cooled using Daikin split system. I have filled it with all my favourite luxury home items so that when were away Im still doing it in style. It really is our tiny house. If you spot us on tour give us a beep and say hello. 02.01.2022 Christian and myself have been deeply saddened with the tragic passing of Stephen Jones. We met Stephen 6 years ago when he approached us to advertise with what is now a successful online furniture sales platform named House of Home. You couldnt help liking this handsome, energetic, smiling and genuine bloke. It was the end of the day and we shared a beer and talked about his beloved Hawks but most of the conversation was around his love for his wife Fiona and their young fa...mily. He was excitedly showing me photos of a cubby he was building the kids in his backyard and it was clear his young family was his life. Later we met Stephens beautiful parents who purchased a dining table from us. It was clear where Stephen had inherited his wonderful personality from. It was clear how much Russell and Lesley adore their son who was extremely close to his parents. Our heart is breaking for Stephens family at this devastating time.
