25.01.2022 Men's prayer breakfast. "In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy." Sorry for those who could not come due to restrictions, we had full numbers so you will be given first place for our next one. So encouraging as we gathered around the scriptures below to pray . ... 20But you did not learn Christ in this way, 21if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, 22that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, 23and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. 25Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another. 26BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27and do not give the devil an opportunity. 28He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need. 29Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. 30Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you

21.01.2022 Some final new touch ups. "Spafford House" named after the song writer of the famous hymn "It is well with my soul" will be opening soon. It will be running as an Air BnB and emergency accommodation as well but only ever for short term stays, i.e. suitcase only. It will still be used for church activities as well when not used as accommodation. Big thanks to Jolanda Harvey and Junene de Kaste and Hans who have made this possible. Today's sermon was on the church of Corinthians with all their petty failings, immorality and division, Paul was confident they were still a living letter of Christ and his ministry. Wow. 14.01.2022 Today we mourn with brother Lawrence, on the passing of his mother yesterday aged 69. Please pray for him as it is impossible for him to say goodbye to his mother due to covid19. She meant the world to Lawrence so please make sure to drop him a line or phone call of comfort.

09.01.2022 Thought for the day. The Gospel can arrest the heart of the unbeliever by its shocking revelation of some one else paying ones debt when one was not even concerned with such a debt or even aware it existed. The Gospel at the same time can also harden the heart of one looking to pay back those debts. It robs them of the virtue of making amends themselves . ... Therefore it is not those that think they are not sinners who are in the deepest peril but those who think they are but are too proud to accept the shocking news that some one else paid their debt.

06.01.2022 A second phase of opening up will follow at 11.59pm on November 22, when the following rules will come into force in Melbourne and regional Victoria: Private gatherings of 10 visitors to a home Public gatherings of 50 allowed Indoor maximum of 100 people in hospitality venues, with the density of 1- foursquare metres and an outdoor limit of 200 people... Sport, physical recreation, gyms will go to 100 people in groups of 20, indoor sport 100 people in groups of 20. Large sporting venues will be at 25 per cent of their overall capacity. Outdoor physical recreation at 500 people, groups of 50. Faith gatherings can have 100 indoors and they will be grouped in 20s and outdoors, 500 people, grouped in 50s. Weddings will go to 100 but only still 10 people in a private residence if the wedding is held at a private home. Funerals, 100 people, again 10 people if the service was held privately. 04.01.2022 Yes, ten people can now gather for religious purposes outside at our church. We have the perfect outdoor area for this, so this Saturday we are going to have our first men's prayer breakfast. Afternoon Bible studies can start again as well. So happy! It will still have to be by invitation only but is a good start.
