18.01.2022 Abortion bill to be introduced to NSW Parliament delayed after MPs claim they need more time The introduction of a bill to decriminalise abortion in New South W...ales has been delayed, after a number of Liberal MPs raised concerns there wasn't enough time to consider the legislation. Key points: The bill will allow abortion up to 22 weeks' gestation, and afterwards, with consent of two doctors It was last introduced to Parliament in 2017 but failed in the Upper House The bill has 15 co-sponsors, more than any other piece of legislation in NSW history Leader of the House, Andrew Constance, this morning confirmed the bill would be introduced today and debated this week, but by this afternoon that was no longer the case. Independent MP Alex Greenwich, who was set to introduce the legislation, announced the delay after a meeting with Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Mr Constance. The ABC understands a number of Liberal MPs are strongly opposed to the legislation, while others claim they haven't had enough time to look at the bill. It will now be introduced on Thursday and debated next week. It comes as Upper House MP Reverend Fred Nile described the abortion bill as "sneaky" and "worse than any other bill that's been put up to Parliament". The Christian Democrat joined a small group of protesters, including his wife, outside Parliament House earlier this morning. The bill to remove abortion from the Crimes Act and define it as a medical procedure in its own legislation, was set to be introduced in the Lower House this afternoon but has now been postponed until Thursday. It will allow abortion up to 22 weeks' gestation and, after 22 weeks, with the consent of two doctors. Reverend Nile said he first heard about the bill on Sunday and he felt supporters were "trying to ram it through the Parliament" before it had been given proper consideration. "It's probably one of the most dramatic bills, but also the most sneaky bills," he said. https://amp.abc.net.au/article/11365482
17.01.2022 In 2017 Assyrian Voice in Diaspora organised a rally at Fairfield - Sydney against the inclusion of the Nineveh Plains in the coming Kurdistan region referendum... and the dismissal of the Mayor of Alkosh. Colleague Adel Dano was there and filed this report. STOP Human Rights Violation by Kurds Hundreds Fairfield residents gathered around Fairfield railway station on Saturday 9th September at noon to protest against humans rights violations by the Kurdish forces under Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) in the Nineveh region in Iraq. Assyrian Cultural and Social Youth Association organised this rally against the referendum to establish a Kurdish state on Assyrian occupied lands and against the human rights violations in Alqosh and Talkepe by the KRG. We have recently received urgent reports detailing Kurds' continued and illegal confiscation of lands of indigenous Assyrians within the ancestral territory of Assyria, located in Iraq. Kurdish Police have begun raiding the homes of Assyrian 'ring leaders' and demanded protests in Alqosh come to halt. Rev Fred Nile, a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council, joined the Assyrian community in Sydney during the protest against KRG Human Rights Violations. Nile delivered a speech in which he called for the end of the KRG's oppression of minority communities in Iraq. Australian politician Milan Maksimovic joined the Assyrian community in Fairfield during the protest against KRG Human Rights Violations. Maksimovic delivered a speech in which he called for the end of the KRG's oppression of minority communities in Iraq. Today we are standing together against human rights violation in Nineveh by Kurds. Kurdish forces have mostly relied on intimidation, threats, arrests, and detentions to remove Assyrian communities and take their territories. In some extreme cases, Human Rights Watch found that Kurds used violence, including torture and killings, said Mr Maksimovic. Assyrians are not alone. Australians, Armenians, Greek, Coptic, Serbians and all Christian minorities are with Assyrians, added Mr Maksimovic.
16.01.2022 Thank you all for the great support in last couple months. Together we were standing for the most precious things in this life which is family, children innocen...ce, for persecuted, for most vulnerable (unborn and elderly), freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Proposed changes are affecting more than what we could imagine. On Wednesday 15/11/2017 results will be announced regarding Australian Marriage Law postal survey and Australian parliament will need to respond. Regardless of the outcome of this survey and regardless of what is going to happen in the future we should congratulate ourselves for standing for what is the most valuable for us and for what should never be in question. We also need to accept that this is only the beginning and attacks on our society foundation will not stop. Let us be reminded of Edmund Burke Quote: The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. And we should all be very proud of ourselves. We ordinary and family people this time did have voice and we did something. In all previous cases we were silent because we are busy with working hard, paying our bills and providing for our families. Thanks to this survey they definitely got our attention and we did put aside our political, religious and any other differences, because their agenda came to our home and we had to say enough is enough.

12.01.2022 URGENT MESSAGE TO THE ASSYRIAN COMMUNITY IN FAIRFIELD (scroll down for english version) 8 2016... 10 . ( / ) . .. . / ( ) (CDP) ! . 12:00 ( / ) . . . . " . 1 CDP 1 . . " " . 80909393(02) Milan Maksimovic - Mayor and *Cabravale Ward. Sam Georgis - *Fairfield Ward. Mariam Salama - *Parks Ward. URGENT MESSAGE TO THE ASSYRIAN COMMUNITY IN FAIRFIELD Wednesday 8 September 2016 It is with deep regret that we need to write this message addressing the absurd lies that have been promoted by various members of major parties and their supporters in the lead up to Saturday’s important local council elections. As you may be aware, both major parties have been rocked due to major divisions and in-fighting resulting in both Frank Carbone and Dai Le running against their former Labor and Liberal parties. Our party is performing strongly at the early election booths and on all online polling results. Our opponents are now getting desperate and have resorted to propagating lies and rumors among the Assyrian community. In summary, members of Labor and Liberal parties have been propagating lies that our party, The Christian Democratic Party (CDP) which is led by the Hon. Fred Nile MLC is against Churches! They have politicized an issue regarding restrictions imposed by the current Labor-Liberal controlled council on a church at Cecil Hills. The church was seeking to operate until midnight, however the majority of councilors only permitted the church to operate until 10.00pm. This decision had absolutely nothing to do with our party. The Assyrian community has no better supporter in Fairfield than our party leader and upper house MP’s, Fred Nile MLC and Paul Green MLC. It is absurd for the members of other parties to spread lies against our candidates in Fairfield that we are opposed to churches. We would like to reiterate that our party is the only party that stands for the rights of Churches, Christians, Christian schools, and persecuted minority groups like the Assyrian community. Our leader, Fred Nile was even banned from visiting Turkey for supporting Assyrian causes. Our party and our candidates in Fairfield are the only candidates that openly oppose the dangerous ‘safe schools programs’, we oppose same-sex marriage and we support that Christian refugees such as Assyrians are given priority. We urge all Assyrians in Fairfield to spread this message and seriously consider Voting 1 CDP for all our candidates. We have a great team that will serve the entire community and we will continue to support the Assyrian community and churches. Enclosed is our ‘How to vote’ flyer and our policies for Fairfield City Council residents. Please do not hesitate to contact our Assyrian speaking representatives on the number below to discuss further. Yours Sincerely, Milan Maksimovic Mayor and Cabravale ward candidate. Sam Georgis Fairfield ward candidate. Mariam Salama Parks ward candidate

03.01.2022 NEWTOWN MURAL - 22 November 2017 Legislative Council Hansard - 22 November 2017 Reverend the Hon. FRED NILE ( 15 :01 ): My question without notice is directed... to the Hon. Don Harwin, representing the Attorney General, the Hon. Mark Speakman. Is the Attorney General aware of the huge mural in Newtown which shows Cardinal Pell and former Prime Minister Tony Abbott in a sexually explicit pose? Are there laws against the depiction of sexually explicit conduct in public places? Why is legal action being contemplated against the Christians who covered up the mural and not against the so-called artist who painted it in the first place? What steps does the Attorney General propose to take to stop the impression that the authorities are acting in a highly biased manner? The Hon. DON HARWIN (Minister for Resources, Minister for Energy and Utilities, and Minister for t he Arts) ( 15:01 ): I have no doubt that honourable members like me have been following this story in the media, because it is one of some interest. However, Reverend the Hon. Fred Nile has probably been following the story far more closely than I have. I think the artwork was reproduced in the Sydney Morning Herald, which first ran the story, although I am might be wrong. The artwork is certainly idiosyncratic and it might not be to some people's taste. No doubt some members of the community found it amusing, but for others, no doubt it was highly offensive and that is often the way with art. Art challenges people and sometimes it inspires people and delights people. I do not know whether the artwork was done with the permission of the owner of the premises, and therefore I will not canvass some of the aspects of the question. I suspect the granting of permission may be highly relevant to some of the aspects the honourable member raises in his question, such as any possible action taken against those persons who defaced the muraland I use the word "deface" because those people are being charged with defacing the artwork. Since I do not know whether the artist was granted permission in the first place, I do not know whether it was in fact graffiti. It is best if I leave my answer there and, in the first instance, refer the honourable member's question to the Attorney General, who may or may not be the appropriate Minister to answer this question, and seek a response from him.
01.01.2022 In 2017 Milan Maksimovic joined the Assyrian community in Sydney during today's protest against KRG Human Rights Violations. Maksimovic delivered a speech in which he called for the end of the KRG's oppression of minority communities in Iraq.
