23.01.2022 Christmas is my favourite time of year. It's when our family gets together for a big party. We have special meals like home made macaroni (Italian style), lots of seafood (no meat on Christmas eve), pavlova, rabanadas (from my in laws, this is my favourite!). We traditionally play bingo and watch national lampoons Christmas vacation (and sometimes die hard cos it's a Christmas movie ). This year, for those of us in Melbourne, may be different. At this point we are unsure as ...to whether we will be allowed to spend Christmas together. So I am preparing lots of Christmas cards to send to everyone so they know they are loved. 21.01.2022 Of course I was so passionate about painting her that I didn't set up the camera to record an actual time lapse But what I did do is take regular photos along the way. So I've complied those here for you to see. This was my process for my feminine power portrait. She isn't entirely finished yet but she is about 90% there. I will take more photos of the finishing touches ... She is my she sits next to me in my studio. I can't help but constantly look at her. Being able to do this, and then to do this for other women around the world is epic for me. I always knee I was here for big things and this is my work in the world. 19.01.2022 I really love these sea turtles, and not only because of the beautiful colour of the water This piece is the representation when baby decides that it's time from them to investigate on their own. And as a mum, we have to let them do it. It is a funny feeling of heart break and pride. Sea Turtles is available in the original watercolour on timber (with clear resin) or in a giclee print. 18.01.2022 Pretty safe to say that I have never been a follower. I always follow what I believe to be the best thing for me to do. Because of this I can be frustrating and viewed as a rule breaker. 17.01.2022 Fresh from the shower and I'm ready to paint. I realised something today. I feel free. I wondered what freedom meant for me. Freedom means having the time to be able to do the things I really, really, really want to do.... So I've set a new desire (by the way. I love the word DESIRE) and that is to be in a position to outsource the "jobs" I don't need to do (like cleaning my house) which will give me time to do the things I want to do (like painting) What are your DESIRES? 02.01.2022 I read a post this morning that made me realise how many women actually operate from a masculine core. I myself did for a lot of my life. This might be an unpopular opinion but men aren't the enemy. Men are our partners. The masculine and feminine need to be in balance for us to be in flow. The post talks about how a woman takes on the responsibility of all the tasks, while the man ignores everything or does exactly what is asked, rather than seeing all the things that need ...to be done. Men don't operate like that, they are single focused. Let's give them the space to operate as a man, and not as a woman. But to be able to do this, we need to come into our feminine more. 01.01.2022 My limited edition Lion and Cub fine art print is available to purchase Back when I created it, I remember watching my children interact with their dad. My husband works really hard, and long hours. So he is tired alot. He will often fall asleep at some point during the day. The kids always, without fail will gravitate towards him and just lay on him. And my husband is such a champion sleeper he just sleeps through it. But it is a special interaction to watch ... So I chose a lion to represent this relationship. Lions are the king of the jungle and they are fierce but playful. They are strong but kind. They are loving and protective.
