12.01.2022 Dear Education Department... You are appalling...... Education Department has failed to help us with a suicidal son and his needs on campus. Today he ran away..... as at 830am BEFORE school even started when he was calmly playing with his friends in the hall a Head of Learning Principal came and told him he had to go to the learning centre immediately as he was not allowed with his class .... Bodee refused and said .. no.. my mum said that I am allowed back with the whole class today so I can be normal ( we had a call last night to say that was again the plan and he was so excited) ... she said "no you are in there for the rest of the year and have no play break". This was before school even had started... He then ran through the school screaming and I was called at 840am to collect him as the principal.said "he can just go home". Today was the day we had arranged for an Autistic coach to come and monitor Bodee in a class environment and they new this... we have waited for weeks..... By the time I got there he was 2 streets away across a busy road with a police.officer HOW IS THIS FAIR INCLUSIVE TREATMENT OF AUTISTIC CHILDREN. Needless to say I have been crying all day cuddling my boy who says "mummy they hate me.they don't want me there they don't care about me and I just want my friends" Something must change Feel free to share School.is Nambour State College.. do not send your kids there ..
