23.01.2022 Weekends in Ubud On Saturday I am often in my studio Because I love to paint I never lack motivation to get into my studio and work... Saturday evenings and Tim and I go out for dinner Either to Casa Luna restaurant (@casalunabali) or to The Traveller, our new favorite. see The Traveller Restaurant on Facebook. Sunday is a slow day for me, I take time having my breakfast outside on the deck overlooking the jungle and then go for a walk with GoGo our beautiful dog In the afternoon I play Mahjong with a group of friends at the Honeymoon Guest House We have been playing for a few years and I love this game. 18.01.2022 Broome, also known as Rubibi by the indigenous Yawuru people is a pearling and tourist town in the Kimberely region of Western Australia on the Indian Ocean The town has a deep history based around the pearling industry starting with the harvesting of oysters for mother of pearl in the 1880's to present day cultured pearl farms I first went to Broome in 1995 and spent a wonderful few weeks exploring and sketching ... 16.01.2022 I am back in Ubud and in my studio but still thinking about our recent three days at the Tandjung Sari Hotel on Sanur Beach. What a truly wonderful place, the staff there looked after us so well , we miss them. This hotel is now over 50 years old starting in 1962 as a family home and slowly developing and growing to the amazing hotel that it is now. ... In the past Tandjung Sari has hosted Ingrid Bergman, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono and Annie Lennox, we were in good company. I think we slept in Mick's bed !! 11.01.2022 Green Still Life on paper When I started this painting I didn't plan what it was going to be or the colour I wanted to be free and not think about the finished painting So with many tools including ink, Golden acrylic fluids, charcoal, pencil, modeling paste, bamboo pens, stencils and scratching tools, I started to play ... I put down patterns and random colours, adding and taking away At some stage I started to see a still life compositing within my abstract marks Adding a few extra marks, I had a jug, a vase of flowers and a bowl I have this piece available for sale, the size is 72x72cm and the price is $500 AUD It is on heavy watercolour paper and I can freight it to you

08.01.2022 I never stop exploring new ideas and new techniques Learning something new inspires me to push my boundaries And very rarely I am happy with what I have created I see its faults and weaknesses and strive to be better ... Sometimes it is also nice to just let go and see what happens Recently I have been using acrylic washes and coloured inks so different from working in oil paint And remember, it is only a canvas or a piece of paper that you have worked on If it doesn't work, throw it away and start again Keep creating
