25.01.2022 Covid-19 intimate weddings. Is this the new trend? Perhaps follow the example of HRH Princess Beatrice who married in a secret intimate ceremony on Friday 17th July 2020. Wearing a vintage dress and a borrowed tiara, which was worn by her grandmother, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on her wedding day in 1947. At the intimate secret ceremony just one bridesmaid, and the family of 15 guests during daylight hours. This lovely photo shows Princess Beatrice socially distancing with her grandparents outside the chapel so beautiful.
25.01.2022 Photos from the February wedding of Olive and Henry. It’s hard to believe that only last month this joyous wedding was celebrated at our church. But how quickly has our life in Australia changed. Due to Covid-19 all weddings and all inspections at our church are temporarily postponed. Bookings will re-open as soon as we in Australia can return to normal life. In the meantime, stay well and take care. Christine
23.01.2022 Boo and Jo made history today with their marriage at Christine's Church of the Two Grandfathers. Congratulations to this happy couple, pictured here with Christine centre of photo.
22.01.2022 Happy Birthday to Muriel in Victoria - 4th October 2020 and a new rose, Pope John Paul 11 was planted to celebrate your 100th birthday. The rose is white and perfumed. This rose is also planted in the private Vatican gardens in Rome and in August this year was added to the renovated rose garden at the White House USA closer to home it grows very well in a friend’s garden in Ballina NSW and hopefully will thrive and bloom in our church garden.
19.01.2022 I got so excited today when I saw all of the roses in bloom that I had to share this photo of the fabulous Regensberg rose. October is the best month for the roses along the bridal walk. And the scent today was so gorgeous. The church gardens are not watered, but very deeply mulched (with our organic macadamia husk) and despite the drought conditions our rose gardens are putting on a splendid display.
19.01.2022 Winter gardening jobs last Friday. Evan and Nathan pictured after a day's work in the garden. Nathan expertly clipped the hedges and pruned the roses in preparation for spring flowering. Meanwhile the winter flowering magnolias just get better every day till the weather starts to warm and light green leaves will replace the spectacular flowers.
18.01.2022 The northern rivers NSW is not the best of rose growing regions, and our gardens just receive natural rain without supplementary watering, but every October our hot pink Regensberg roses put on a stunning display. And in the circular driveway is the almost thornless and exquisite light pink perfumed climbing Nahema from the Delbard rose collection planted amongst white standard Iceberg roses. Purple Louisiana irises which normally grow in waterways are somehow surviving the dry conditions.
18.01.2022 Our gardens have beautiful flowering plants for every season. Autumn and early winter the camellias are flowering and as we approach mid winter the magnolia trees are in full bud ready for a gorgeous July display of huge flowers. Photos taken 27 June of pink azaleas; camellia reticulata Flower Girl and pink flowering magnolia trees.
10.01.2022 I know that some couples are busy planning their future wedding and while Covid-19 restrictions are still in place we can provide information and prices for our church. If you would like to receive an information package, please send your name, mobile phone number together with an email address. Happy planning.
08.01.2022 Pocket Lily patch. A few years ago a single stem was brought to the church by a gardening friend. It grew into a dramatic plant and drew a lot of comments but sadly was reduced to a pile of ash by our fire. Now almost two years later and the recent rains, the Pocket Lily patch has made a dramatic reappearance. Xanthosoma altrovirens is the correct name for this fabulous tropical plant. And the dainty pink flowers nearby attracting butterflies to the garden are lovely Dianthus also known as Pinks..
