21.01.2022 Congratulations to our winners of the Santa and Count the Reindeers competition for Christmas Lights for CF Albany on Mueller Street !Congratulations to our winners of the Santa and Count the Reindeers competition for Christmas Lights for CF Albany on Mueller Street !

20.01.2022 The 2020 CYSTIC FIBROSIS CHRISTMAS LIGHTS have concluded and was by every measure a fantastic success. The joy and happiness that was so evident from the little kids through to the big kids gave ample testament to this. With over 300,000 lights on display there was plenty to see. The find the Santa and count the Reindeers competitions were just so successful in giving the kids and families something to do as they walked around the lights. The sponsors we had this year who... ranged from signage, cherry pickers, materials, traffic management and electrical among others were an essential and intricate part of the event. Building the lights required a big effort and thanks go to Jeremie Ewers, Des Mclean, Gary Cummins, Ryan McCreedy and Fay and Terry Stevenson for their help. Once built and open to the public we had a massive team of volunteers to help run the event each night and our heartfelt thanks go to this wonderful group of people. So to the numbers. The best estimate is that around 16,000 people visited the lights from the 4th through to the 29th, with some nights the cue to enter the main display over 50 metres long. The Team at the Cystic Fibrosis Christmas Lights for raised $43,608.00 - Bravo! For us personally one of the most satisfying things from the lights was the number of people who stopped and spent a considerable time required to read the two boards that provided an insight into what CF means to a family. At times they were 4 and 5 deep and we know that each and everyone of those people have a very different view of a condition that is virtually impossible to recognise in those that have it. 2020 has been a very difficult year for many, and the CF Christmas Lights provided a fantastic highlight upon which to say goodbye to it. In the end the event was the compilation of many hours of hard work from a large team and we are both so proud of the event itself, and what it achieved for Cystic Fibrosis, as well as those volunteers who ranged from 14 to 80 years of age and gave so freely of their time. Our heartfelt thanks to you all. Jeremy & Lorraine Stevenson Proud Supporters of Cystic Fibrosis WA

18.01.2022 Our Competition Winners!! Merry Christmas everyone!

14.01.2022 Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou! The Christmas lights fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis WA 2020 has concluded and was a huge success. A success that can be put down in no small part to the sponsors who gave of their time, money, equipment and materials to make this all happen. In no order of importance we would like to thank the following businesses and organisations here in our community.... FRIENDS OF THE CF LIGHTS Albany Community Foundation - allowed us to use them as an Auspicing body to be able to apply for a community grant from the city. The City of Albany - provided funding for the necessary things to make the event happen 4 Steel Albany - donated a substantial amount of steel to be able to construct the curtains that made such a statement in the lights display - you will find them in the old Wool Stores building. Barrett's Tree Services - literally got our lights off the ground with 7 days of cherry picker use and tackling the large Norfolk Pine for us. Southern Site Hire - provided the large signs that guarded either side of the lights and provided the people with the information they needed to know on how best to view the lights, was a fantastic help. IGA North Road and Denmark - provided 10 huge platters of food for our invitational opening night - so generous and the platters were absolutely amazing. Advanced Traffic Management - provided us with a traffic management plan and all the signage to have the speed limit dropped to 40 km's an hour, Thanks to Bianca and Mark as well as John who put the signs up each night. It was certainly a safer event because of your involvement. Lost the Plot Media - Warren Mead provided us with all the technology we needed to have music throughout the display without the need for amplified sound. He was the voice you could hear between sets of Carols. Did an amazing job. Albany Aluminum - Wayne Lenneggan did some specialised welding for us and donated all the wire we needed to hang the lights from our curtains. Albany Signs - provided the signage within the display that prooved so popular as people became so much more aware of CF after reading them. Bertola Hire - provided a cherry picker at short notice. PDE Electrical - Phil Davey did all the electrical work that was at the heart of the CF Lights and fixed and lights that failed - thanks Phil. Fridge and Washer City - provided us with extra fridge space for our opening night. Jim's Bobcat Service - provided us with the sand and bobcat service we needed to fill the area upon which the Eiffel Tower sat during what was an incredibly busy time for them. A big warm hearted thankyou to all these businesses and organisations, you are what make the community of Albany such a great place to live, work and play. Thank you to each and everyone of you. 07.01.2022 Christmas Lights for CF Albany on tonight! Last Day 29th December. Just Magical!! Don't miss it.

02.01.2022 A huge shout out to my step-dad Jeremy Stevenson, my mum Lorraine Stevenson, all of the volunteers, and everyone who visited and supported Christmas Lights for ...CF Albany. Thanks to you $43,608.90 was raised for Cystic Fibrosis WA, which is just incredible! These funds will help those affected by CF, their families, go towards research into novel treatments, and hopefully help us achieve our goal of lives unaffected by CF that little bit sooner. Mum and Jeremy estimate around 16,000 people visited their lights display throughout December. That is 16,000 more people aware of this horrible condition who can now help spread awareness. This is our CF Warrior Princess Amelia volunteering at Nanna and Poppy's lights...from Amelia and our family, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!
