The body uses protein to build and repair body tissues-muscles,bones, skin, hair and virtually every other body part are made of protein. The best sources are meat, egg,fish, seafood, poultry and dairy foods.Other sources are plant proteins- legumes (chickpeas and lentils, tofu,cereal grains ( especially Whole-grains) nuts and seeds. Because our bodies can’t stockpile amino acids ( the ...building blocks of protein) from one day to the next as it does fat or carbs, we need daily supply. Women on average need about 45 grams of protein a day ) more of you are pregnant or breast feeding) and men about 55 grams. Active people may need more, as do growing children and teenagers. 18.01.2022 HEALTHY LEMON & COCONUT BLISS BALLS . These healthy Lemon & coconut balls just take 10 minutes to make are freezer friendly ( love this ) and taste amazing. Ingredients... 1/2 cup (65g) raw cashews 1/2 cup (45g) desiccated coconut juice of half a lemon zest of 1 whole lemon 2 tbs rice malt syrup (or honey) extra coconut, for rolling INSTRUCTIONS: Add all ingredients into a blender . Blitz until all ingredients are finely chopped and the mixture comes together. Take large teaspoonfuls of the mixture and roll into balls ( If it does not bind just add a little water & blend again ) Roll balls into extra coconut. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days or in an airtight container or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
