10.01.2022 I don't often re-post but some things are so important that they need to be said again and again and again. Supporting children is a good start and it is import...ant work. Supporting a child's whole family as well is even better. But it is still not enough. If we really want to intervene and support the mental health and well-being of children, we need to support whole communities too, and reflect as a society on the conditions we ALLOW children to grow up in.

09.01.2022 It’s been a pretty amazing time these past few months and somehow Chrysalis was born. Firstly, I needed to clarify the type of work I wanted to do; and decide if I expand my range of services to include adults... I chose to include adults, a good choice given that today 50% of my clients are adults... then I needed to decide if I work for myself or build someone else’s dream for them; I had been building someone else’s for 15 years... that turned out to be a mirage. So I to...ok a big breathe and whispered work for yourself....now the only person I need to drag kicking and screaming into my dream is myself... as you can see I’m not putting up much of a fight! chrysalis therapeutic Support Services motto (borrowed from Abe Lincoln) is ‘the only way to predict the future is to create it’ and the only rule my new employer (me) imposes on me is DO RIGHT BY OTHERS. Trauma recovery is not for the faint hearted; neither is living with physical or psychosocial disabilities whether you are a child or an adults; a family navigating the new world of NDIS or a young person dealing with mental health issues or a 50 year old who has lived your life in a group home; dignity and respect are human rights ...and human rights are everyone’s rights. YOUR WAY Psychotherapist Beck Ronkson has joined forces with Chrysalis Therapeutic Support Services to develop a unique therapeutic program for people living with disabilities.... Your World, Your Way is a therapeutic group program designed to utilise creative forms of communication to assist participants to build their self-acceptance, social communication skills, and confidence. Your World, Your Way aims to support participants to harness their unique gifts and have a voice on issues that affect their lives. The group will be a collaborative co-design between each participant and the group facilitators using a variety of creative, and process oriented approaches to helping participant create a safe place where their world, their way is the new norm. We'll explore together choice and self efficacy, what makes each of us unique and why diversity is so important for the world. Open to participants living with psychosocial disabilities. Chrysalis is a registered NDIS provider.
