18.01.2022 From NSWCHS - NSW Combined High Schools Sports Association (NSWCHSSA) advises that due to the COVID-19 outbreak and ‘social distancing strategy’, all programs for Terms 1 and 2 are now cancelled. ... The health and wellbeing of everyone involved is paramount and at the heart of this decision. We recognise the pressures that schools are currently experiencing and supporting staff and students is our highest priority. 15.01.2022 Unfortunately, due to ongoing COVID concerns in the community, the Sydney West Schools bowls event at St Johns Park in September has had to be cancelled. At this stage, Sydney South West will continue to accept entries from schools - any changes will be advertised here and relayed to schools also. Sydney West will endeavour to have a Bowls day for Yrs 7 & 8 in Term 4 and seek interested student helpers to assist.
14.01.2022 We are hoping for a full CHS Bowls program for 2021! The year will begin with the CHS Singles & Pairs Championships at Warilla 9-10 June (TBC) (selection is via your regional Association's policy - some hold Championships, some don't). The CHS State Championships will be hosted by St Johns Park (Sydney South West) 22-24 June. Each regional Association will host their own trials to select a side of 8 players. The Final 16 of the Statewide Competition (schools Triples) will be ...in Tamworth 11-12 August (qualifying for schools is through whatever your regional Association pathway is - some have gala days, some have a knockout home/away draw) Additionally, the inaugural School Sport Australia Bowls Championships will be hosted by School Sport Victoria at Sunbury 14-17 September.
11.01.2022 Sydney West & Sydney South West will be hosting a schools Triples event at SJP on 18 September. Syd West info went out today to schools, so get a side together and talk to your Sport Organiser. Syd Sth West info will be the same - I will notify when this info is sent to those schools. The Top 3 unchanged school sides in the State will be in attendance, but the event is catering for all levels. If you are a bowler - grab 2 mates and get involved!
11.01.2022 Unfortunately, the School Sport Unit has canceled all Term 3 CHS events. This means that the Australian Schools Super Series scheduled for mid-September at Tweed Heads will not take place. There was a lot of effort in the background to get the event happening, yet to no avail.
08.01.2022 From Sydney West School Sport - "We have just been advised that all sporting activities as in zone association, state and National (National actually canceled for the entire 2020 season) activities have been CANCELLED Term 1 & Term 2". I will confirm what this all means at a later time. School Sport Australia announced yesterday that all of their events are canceled for the year.
