25.01.2022 It’s NAIDOC Week and it’s a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements. It’s an opportunity to recognise the rich contribution, achievements and innovations emerging from Indigenous Australians that make our country and society stronger. This years theme: 'Always Was, Always Will Be'. recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. NAIDOC stands for 'National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee'. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.'

24.01.2022 HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! Sunday 12th April is a time for us to keep connected with our families and community and appreciate the people that matter most to us. In a time where we may not be able to visit our family and friends, we encourage you to reach out to others via: facebook, phone, video chat, email or by sending a heartfelt card or letter. To keep entertained during the isolation long weekend, challenge yourselves to: make a colourful Easter bonnet, create an Easte...r art piece or dress up as a family in Easter inspired costumes. The Chuckles children have their 'Interactive Packs' with their Easter package, full of activities to keep them busy. Please take photos and share them with us under this post. All the staff at Chuckles Childcare would like to wish everyone a safe long weekend. The Easter Bunny has made an early trip to our very excited children delivering delicious chocolate Eggs. We will all be back together soon and together we will get through this.

23.01.2022 The Chuckles Children had another special visitor to the centre today. This time, they arrived in a police car and wore a uniform! Constable Chantelle and Constable Jodie visited the Preschool children to tell them all about their job, and how they protect and serve the community. Over the past few weeks, Educators had noticed many of the misconceptions children had developed about the role of a police officer and thought that inviting down a police officer from the local pol...ice station would extinguish these misconceptions, and inspire children to learn about the important job that the police officers carry out each day. The police officers were amazing with the children as they answered their many questions and showed the children some of the different equipment that they use. The children even got to dress up in the police uniforms and sit inside the paddy wagon. All the children and educators wish to extend a massive thank you to all the police officers from the Rockingham police station, especial Constable Chantelle and Constable Jodie who went above and beyond to create and invaluable learning experience for the Preschool Children. 21.01.2022 Red Nose is an organisation set up for Australian families. They help to save little lives through research and education, and support families that are affected by the loss of a baby or child. With so many people being affected by such a tragedy, Chuckles holds an annual Red Nose Day cupcake fundraiser. This year our wonderful volunteer Ilonka cooked over 600 cupcakes to sell. What an amazing effort. We have had such overwhelming support from our centre families and staff..., with some even choosing to donating extra money for this worthy fundraising event. THANK YOU TO ALL THE FAMILIES THAT SUPPORTED US, WE RAISED A MASSIVE $1124 FOR Sids and Kids Red Nose Day.

20.01.2022 The crew from Rockingham Fire station provided the children the opportunity to participate in a hands on and informative incursion. The children were so exited to see the big fire trucks and learn about all the important gear that fire fighters need to help them protect people, homes and animals in the event of a fire. We learnt about all the ins and out of the fire truck and carefully investigated all the different hoses and even got to have a go at spraying the large hose o...urselves. Through this learning experience, the children are developing and demonstrating their knowledge of what to do in an emergency situation, use curiosity and engagement to build knowledgeable and confident self identities and are connecting to their wider community as they learn about the importance of the fire fighting profession. On behalf of all the Children and Educators we would like to extend a massive Thank you to Gillian and all the fire fighting crew from Rockingham fire station! See more

15.01.2022 Our cars can sometimes reveal too much about ourselves. With this week being 'National Child Protection Week', it is easy to recognise behaviours that we may need to change or be aware of, to ensure our children are safe. But do you ever wonder what adults are doing that might be putting themselves, or those with them, at risk.

06.01.2022 This week is Children's Art Week. We have been lucky enough to have Morris back at our centre to touch up his amazing mural. The children were absolutely fascinated by him, which prompted Morris to join the children for a creative art session. The Toddlers have a community teddy called 'Puddles the Puppy', this inspired the cute drawing of the puppy. Children's Art Week was founded with the goal of providing opportunities for children, young people and families to take part in practical activities with artists and art educators. Please feel free to share art creations that you have done with your children. 'Inspiration can take us anywhere'.

06.01.2022 Thursday 23rd April is 'WORLD BOOK DAY' This is a day where we celebrate authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) the love or reading. This registered charity is on a mission to give every child and young person, an opportunity to share books and gain an understanding of how language and literacy can positively affect their lives. 'Sharing a story' with a child is hugely beneficial. Our challenge to you: *Read a book with your child (their favourite or a new one)... *Dress up in book character costumes (children and adults) *Take photo's of a shared reading moment with your child (with or without dress up) *Share these photo's on here. Also share under the photo what your child likes best about; their book and/or when someone reads to them. For Educators and Adults: feel free to record yourself reading a child's book and share it here. The best way to encourage a child to read, is by seeing an adult read out-loud in a fun and inviting way.

05.01.2022 National Child Protection Week (NCPW) will run from 6 to 12 September 2020. 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of National Child Protection Week, with this year's theme 'Putting children first'. Under this years theme of Putting children first we invite all Australians to look at how they can prioritise children in their lives and communities and to engage in National Child Protection Week as individuals, and as part of families, organisations, communities and society. Putt...ing children first means prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children. To grow up well children need to feel safe and loved, have a chance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. For children to thrive we need to come together as a community and put childrens needs first during National Child Protection Week and every week.

05.01.2022 Congratulations to all of our 2020 Graduates. Even with all the challenges we have faced this year, we are proud to say that we have had made some wonderful memories along the way. Stay safe and keep moving.... And remember: A child's body doesn't know the difference between play and exercise. But their mind tells them when they are having fun.
