19.01.2022 Margaret with the palm crosses that she made. AMUA could not gather together to make palm crosses this year. So they have separately made them and the crosses are now in self isolation.



18.01.2022 33 years ago today the Church of the Ascension Heatley was consecrated. I doubt that anyone at that service would have thought we would be streaming services from the church to the world over the internet 33 year later.

12.01.2022 New Archdeacons The Bishop has announced that four new Archdeacons are to be appointed to assist him in his duties. The Venerable Chris Wright remains the Archd...eacon of North Queensland and he is the senior Archdeacon of the Diocese, as well as being the Commissary, in my absence he administers the Diocese and I am very grateful to Chris for all that he does for the Diocese. The New Archdeacons are to be The Venerable Kenneth Lay who in addition to being Dean of the Cathedral is also the new Ministry Development Officer for the West and the Southern Gulf. He will be Archdeacon of the South and West concurrent with his duties as Ministry Development Officer. He will also, as Dean and Archdeacon, be responsible for representing the Bishop in Townsville as required. The Venerable Annette Woods, Rector of Yarrabah and Ministry Development Officer for the Cape York Peninsula, will be Archdeacon of the Cape concurrent with her other duties as Ministry Development Officer. The Venerable Jeff Coop, soon to be Rector of St John’s Cairns, will also be Archdeacon of Cairns. As Archdeacon of Cairns he will have responsibility for ecumenical relations and representing the Bishop in Cairns as required and assisting the Archdeacon of North Queensland as required. The Venerable Rosemary Dunn will be Archdeacon for Mission and Ministry. Her role is to support the Bishop and the other Archdeacons and Ministry Development Officers.
