20.01.2022 We welcome to the stage Beth and Norm from Latrobe Valley Dance Promotions Beth and Norm have taught their love of dancing for eight years. Their other hobby is outback cycling. They have even managed to combine the two hobbies - they got off their bikes in Katherine and gave a dancing demonstration! They are off their bikes for the Twilight Festival and will demonstrate the waltz for us. Then they will give a short lesson to anyone who wants to give this beautiful dance a go. The question is, where else will you have the opportunity to practise some moves under the watchful eye of experts, accompanied by live music, courtesy of members of the Latrobe and Francis Orchestra?
20.01.2022 We learned how to waltz with Norm and Mary from Latrobe Valley Dance Promotions. Clear your Thursday night - theyll teach you more then!
20.01.2022 We welcome The Space Between to the stage - our final act! The Space Between is an up and coming local band who will play rock and acoustic for us. We think youll say in months to come, We saw them first at the Churchill Twilight Festival!
19.01.2022 We welcome to the stage the Latrobe and Francis Orchestra. We have been fortunate to have an orchestra in the Latrobe Valley for many years; no need for a trip to the city to hear beautiful classical music! Encouraging new musicians and experienced alike, the Latrobe and Francis Orchestra plays as a full orchestra, string groups and woodwind ensembles. At our Festival, members of the Latrobe and Francis Orchestra will play live to accompany Norm and Beth as they demonstrate the waltz, and to accompany you if you want to give it a go. If you love to waltz, you remember dancing the waltz long ago, or you just want to buy one of those sequinned dresses you have seen on Come Dancing, come along to enjoy dancing to the beautiful music conjured up by these musicians.
18.01.2022 Heres a "mud map" showing where the Civic Space is in Churchill: just downhill from the shopping centre. The map also indicates ways of getting to the event: where the bus stops are, and which major roads you might take if you are driving.
17.01.2022 The Centre is moving to a new phone number: 5120 3850. Of course, a redirection has been arranged from the old number to the new number. HOWEVER This morning... Telstra cut off the old number, and did NOT set up the redirection to the new number. Telstra claims that this problem will be rectified tomorrow, Thursday 29 March. If you urgently need to speak to the Office, please phone 0490 912 963 Sincere apologies for this hiccup, which is beyond our control. See more

Man...y of you did, however, and it would be great if you could post them here, email them to the Centre, or even bring them in on a USB key or your camera and we can make copies then post them on Facebook. Thanks in advance <3 See more

06.01.2022 We welcome to the stage Duenna. Duenna (female guardian) is a small all-womens choir formed in 2018 in the beautiful hills of Budgeree. Bringing together women from all walks of life, the choir sings music both accompanied and a capella, and from many different genres. While led by choir director Amber Rhodes, Duenna is very much a group-inspired effort. Duenna performed most recently at the 2019 Boolarra Folk Festival.
06.01.2022 While we were preparing for and then enjoying the Twilight Festival, the bushfire burned and still burns south of Churchill.

03.01.2022 Churchill Community Festival We welcome The Boorun Boys to the stage: The Boorun Boys were formed 2 years ago from members of the Aboriginal Youth Group run by Ashleigh Dalton. Her father, William Dalton, coaches the Boorun Boys; he has danced since he was a boy himself. To ensure traditional dance continues to thrive, he is handing his knowledge and skill to these dancers, the youngest only 3 years old! Mr Dalton will offer the Welcome to Country.
03.01.2022 For your diary March 16, twilight! More details will follow shortly.
02.01.2022 We welcome BAM Allstars to the stage. The BAM Allstars are all students in dance and drama classes so expect something super charged and sensational. Choreography is mixed with current pop music and the result is dancing that will make you want to jump to your feet and join in. Thats what we want you to do! Dont be shy - the group has come over the border from Wonthaggi, but they are very friendly!
