24.01.2022 We pray for all those who suffer physically with illness, mentally, financially, from loneliness and isolation and from deep despair. Lord please show them your love, care and mercy at this time, draw them to yourself and enable them to know the depth of your love for them.

24.01.2022 Lord thank you for the ministry at St Paul’s and St Luke’s and for the many that have returned to fellowship at our services on Sunday and on Wednesday. May our fellowship with one another grow and strengthen and point us to the love of Christ.

23.01.2022 Heavenly Father, we thank you for your Lordship over the family of St Paul’s and St Luke’s and that you provide for us a model of fatherhood. As we spend the coming weekend celebrating our fathers, may we also look up to you and be grateful for your provision and your protection of our people. May we not take you for granted and may you bless our fathers and families with love, grace, faith and wisdom in leading our families and living for the glory of Chist.

19.01.2022 We commit Kids Church to you having recommenced this term. Thank you for the way the team has continued to support our families and children through COVID restrictions. We pray that the children and families will remain strong in their walk with Jesus and know the joy of meeting in fellowship again.

18.01.2022 TANG FAMILY ARRIVAL IMMINENT Cedric, Jenni, Theodore, and Allegra are now just a couple of weeks away from arriving in Tamworth. We hope very much you are prayi...ng for them as they pack and say farewell to living in Sydney and move to our beautiful city. Isaac will be moving out of the Assistant Minister’s House shortly and into a new rented house in walking distance of the church. No doubt Isaac would appreciate your prayer and support too as he moves ‘digs’ for the third time in well less than two years. See more

17.01.2022 This is a prayer for our children, but you may like to use it to reflect on our Father and the perfect love He has for you. My child, if I talk to you for hours about what I think is important but never really listen to what matters to you, I’m just making noise. If I have no answer to every one of your questions and great faith to pray you through your struggles, but never admit my own questions and struggles, I’m not loving you well. I refuse to keep a record of your wrong...s to throw back in your face. I will never be happy when things are hard for you, but I will always be happy when you do what is right even though it might be hard. Because I love you, I’m never going to give up on you. I’m never going to stop expecting the best from you. I’m never going to lose hope that God is working in your life. If there is one thing you can be sure of until the day I die, it’s that my love will always be there for you to fall back on when the worst happens. I don’t always see things clearly or completely, and that includes things about you. But as I look to the future, I know what is important. Our faith in Christ is important. It’s what links us to him. Our hope in Christ is important. It’s what assures us of a future with him. But it is our love for each other and for Christ that is of supreme importance. Because that love is going to last forever. Source: Praying Through the Bible For Your Kids by Nancy Guthrie, p.232

16.01.2022 FOCUS ON PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SRE Sunday September 20th, . mark that date in your diary. That is the day that here at St Paul’s we will be having a major focus on the wonderful and incredibly strategic ministry of Special Religious Education (SRE) or ’Scripture’. Our very own Belinda Gonsalves has been teaching High School SRE at Oxley High School for many years and will be presenting to us on that day. We also have a number of people teaching Primary Scripture at Tamworth West and Westdale Primary Schools. We’ll also hear from them and how we might be able to support them. We’d urge you to be there as we seek to support and encourage our teachers and to make ourselves more aware of what ’SRE’ entails and why it’s so very important. The Focus on SRE will happen at the 9am service and also at Evening Church.

We pray that scripture will be embraced once more at all schools here in Tamworth, throughout the diocese and throughout New South Wales. May you go before us Lord and may our younger generation be given hearts that desire to know and serve you.

14.01.2022 Lord, thank you for the recent visit of Richard and Denise Jenner as they shared their tireless work with WEC International The Worldwide Evangelisation for Christ. May we join them in their efforts to engage in relational proclamation that others may come to know Jesus wherever we are.

13.01.2022 Thanks to the wonderful crew who turned up on Saturday morning (yesterday) to help give the Assistant Minister’s yard and garden a good ‘once over’. It was heaps of fun working together and a lot was achieved. The Tang’s will still have some work to do (we didn’t want to do it all for them) but the house and yard are now in a reasonably fit state. Thank you to all those who chipped in to make that possible. we are meeting again this Saturday the 12th September btwn 10 - 12pm to finish off a few things in the yard. All welcome to come and give us a hand!

12.01.2022 We thank you for Chuck and Mary’s faithful service and amazing contribution to our church over the past year. May you bless Chuck for his passion, his commitment, his support of the Loomberah community and the wisdom and love of God he shares with us through sermons, prayer meetings, bible studies and relationships.

12.01.2022 Friday 4 September 2020 St Paul’s and St Luke’s Prayer Collective Our link to You Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:6-7... This weekend we celebrate Father’s Day and reflect on the role our Dads have played in our lives, for better or worse. Our reflections may bring joy as we show them how much they mean to us through the giving of gifts, creating or recalling special memories or just spending time with one another. For some of us, it may be tinged with sadness as we grieve fathers who are no longer with us, or perhaps, you do not have the relationship you have always longed for. For just like all of us, our fathers are not perfect, are they? Neither were the examples of godly men in the bible perfect fathers. Abraham was blessed by God with the promise he would be the father of many nations, yet he didn’t trust God enough to wait for his promise to be fulfilled. Surely too, Isaac must have questioned what his father was doing to him when he tied him up as a sacrifice to the Lord! A little later, we look at the example of Jacob, who as we know, favoured his son Joseph so much, it caused a serious rift amongst his brothers and a long separation between Jacob and his family. However, there is one example of the perfect father in the bible is there not? Jesus’ love for the Father and the Father for his Son is a beautiful picture for all to see. There is the ideal we long and hope for and it is granted to us in Jesus, at the cross. We can all be sure of our adoption as His children and I hope that you, like me, are encouraged by the love He has for us. May each of us at St Paul’s and St Luke’s grow in our love and appreciation for our heavenly Father, for our brothers and sisters in Christ and for our wider communities.

11.01.2022 A BRIEF NOTE FROM DP Welcome to St Paul’s and St Luke’s today. We are sincerely glad you have chosen to join us. A very special welcome to any new comers or visitors who are with us today. Thank you for coming. There’s an awful lot happening in and around our Church Family but, at the risk of leaving important things out, I wish to highlight just a few crucial things:... (1) Who are you inviting to join you at one (or more) of our Christmas Gatherings ? It’s through invitations like this that churches grow. We will be working hard to make the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ clear and accessible in all of our Christmas gatherings, so please do your part in inviting people to come. Who knows, it might just be this time that they respond to God’s call through his spirit. (2) Speaking of invitations, . why not use one of the flyers for the 7pm Christmas Eve Carols to invite your neighbours and friends to come and share in that great occasion. Drop it in their letter box or under the door with a little personal note from you on the back. Perhaps you could even offer to pick them up and then drop them home again at the end. It’s such an easy way to witness to the gospel. (3) West Tamworth Door Knock. Some good walkers are needed to distribute invitations to letter boxes across our local area. Use the map on the back table to select a street or two to cover and then take an appropriate number of Flyers. (4) Don’t forget that on Sunday 27th there will be just one service only that day, . 10am here at St Paul’s. (5) If you are hosting people in your home on Christmas Day or over the holiday period, . can I please please please encourage you to say ‘grace’ before you tuck into Christmas lunch or dinner. If you’re at someone else’s home, saying grace is mostly out of your control, but if you are the host, then what better way to name and honour Jesus and to nail your colours to the 'Christian Mast’. Surely, there can be little excuse for missing an opportunity like this to honour and serve our Lord. (6) With Diane on holidays over Christmas, hard copy Bulletins will be in short supply over the next few weeks. Keep your eyes peeled for email communications from church staff to stay up to date. See you at Christmas, DP See more

11.01.2022 Lord, we commit to you the preparation for the Parish Retreat amidst the current Covid restrictions. May our church be eager to gather together as a church family once more. Bless Keith as he prepares the talks and may all come together to enable the Parish Retreat to go ahead.

10.01.2022 Sunday 20th December 2020 Bible Readings Today: 10 am Hosea 11: 1-9, Matthew 2: 1-15 6 pm & Loomberah: Genesis 22:1-18, Matthew 1: 1-17

10.01.2022 Lord, we commit to you the Scripture Union Pins and Needles Camp on the 12th and 13th September. May you give the leaders involved, and Belinda Gonsalves who is the speaker for the weekend your words and your wisdom as they seek to build relationships with the girls attending. May you give the girls open hearts to receive encouragement in their walk with Christ.

08.01.2022 A Message from Chuck.... Thanks to everyone who has shown Mary and me such wonderful and caring support, especially over the last month or so. I have sort of felt like the results of the US election over the last 4-5 weeks. Simply waiting for new results rather than seeing the same old ones day after day. Today one of the specialists came in and had a ‘final’ look and said all is great. In a short time you can get back to hospital in Tamworth. What we are now waiting on is co...ordination between the Mater, NSW ambulance, and Tamara Hospital. As for my mental, spiritual, and emotional state, I know the support many are providing to Mary and myself. A few weeks before I preached on Habakkuk. As I reflect on the book, Habakkuk found himself in great difficulties. Despite them he can write in Habakkuk 3:17-18 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior I have relied upon this so much more as I see that I have the talk I also need to have the walk. Mary as many others have been very supportive of me both in showing of concern and in prayer. For all this I really feel part of that family of Jesus that brings about so much love. Thanks again and may God continue to bless and keep you, in the name of Jesus. See more

06.01.2022 We would like to thank everyone for their best wishes, cards, letters and lovely cakes for our 60th wedding anniversary celebrations. We feel very blessed and we thank God for all those years. Loving thanks, John and Pauline Fletcher.

05.01.2022 Father we uphold to you all who are sick, dying, lonely, or suffering at this time. May they know your peace that transcends all understanding. Grant them rest, recuperation and reminders of your love for them.

04.01.2022 MASKING UP Given the current advice from the Premier of NSW, we recommend that all those attending services or other gatherings at St Paul’s and St Luke’s wear a face mask. This is also the advice coming from our bishop. While it is at this stage unlikely there are cases of COVID-19 in our region, the wearing of masks is a proven means of dramatically reducing the spread of the disease should we unknowingly have an active case attend one of our meetings. St Paul’s and St Luke’s will NOT be supplying masks for people to wear while at any of our gatherings. We ask attendees to bring their own mask and to wear it while on church property. We wish to emphasise that it is NOT compulsory to wear a mask. It remains every individuals choice, but we recommend you do out of concern for others and in compliance with government recommendations.

03.01.2022 Friday 20 November 2020 St Paul’s and St Luke’s Prayer Collective Our link to You... A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:34-35 Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a talk through Mother’s Union by Janene Lewers on ‘Seasons of Life as a Daughter, Wife, Mother and Grandmother’. Janene had so much godly wisdom that came through as she spoke of her personal experiences across the seasons of her life. It was such an encouragement to hear her share stories of her life, particularly when she was in more challenging circumstances and watching as loved ones went their own way away from the love and joy of our Lord and Savior. Perhaps like her, you have this heartache of watching loved ones close to you reject Jesus. Janene encouraged us to keep trusting in Him, to keep up our prayers, for there is a time for everything, a season for every activity under the heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1-14 reminds us to view the seasons of life as a gift from God, that we may know and fear Him. As we pray this week, may we give ourselves and our loved ones to the God who made us, who leads us, who loves us and who sent His Son to die for us, that we may know Him. May we trust him and push through the challenges and rest in our hope in Him, for God’s work in our lives and the lives of our loved ones, is not done.

02.01.2022 Nametags......just a reminder that it would be great if everyone would please wear their nametags to help our new people get to know names. Thank you!
