25.01.2022 To find out more about Open Gardens SA... https://www.facebook.com/opengardensa/ https://opengardensa.org.au

25.01.2022 Here's the Bee & Butterfly corridor opposite our house, which our community group Rosetta Street Greening has developed. Coming along nicely... and the native bees are starting to take up residence. It wasn't much to look at before hand!

23.01.2022 Spent the last two days filming for Gardening Australia under very different weather conditions. Thursday it was 42 degrees in the shade as we filmed the amazin...g Rosetta Street Greening group - #communitygardeners who are greening areas around their local railway lines in the West Croydon area in City Of Charles Sturt. With the assistance of their council, they are adding beauty, biodiversity and habitat, not to mention mitigating the #urbanheatislandeffect, yet along the way they are building an amazing vibrant, connected, resilient community. If you live in Adelaide, next time you are passing, check out their gardens and artwork around Rosetta St, Day Tce and Euston Tce. On Friday, it was very hot and humid, and then the rain came. Filmed a story on what to do if #fruittrees and #vines have been damaged by bushfire. #abcgardening #mypatch See more

19.01.2022 Our garden is (we hope!) an oasis for the soul with 'rooms' and special spaces. Churston was built in 1904, and is all about cottage colour and classical style. Water wise fragrant, ‘rabbit proof’ flowering plants harmonise with fruit trees and veggies. Mediterranean plants suited to Adelaide are particular favourites. Mosaics, paste ups and murals add whimsy while water features create movement and ‘chi’. We use recycled/re purposed items were possible. Our garden is a place for ‘everyone’ including bantams, bunnies, dogs and cats, as well as people.

12.01.2022 Just a few spring things...

11.01.2022 ABC-TV's Gardening Australia were here today to film the Bee and Butterfly garden opposite our house. Cheryl was interviewed by Sophie Thomson about the plants we included. It's hard to believe how much the garden has grown since May when our Rosetta Street Greening volunteer action team swung into action. Today we planted out another big section! Those visiting our Open Garden on March 21/22 will be able to check it out.

09.01.2022 An active group in the inner West of Adelaide. Ongoing projects include greening and maintaining the gardens at the local railway station, painting stobie poles, creation of a bee and butterfly corridor with native bee hotel...just to name a few.

02.01.2022 'Spring Promise' is in bloom! The smell is divine. The Aeonium, also known as Houseleek, is also putting on a beaut pre-Spring show.

01.01.2022 We would have liked them to hang on for a bit longer, but with the heat wave causing some die back, our monster zucchinis were harvested today. These wonderful organic goodies will feature in the savoury muffins and spiced choc zucchini cake for sale next weekend.
