22.01.2022 As you are well aware, the major goal in Australia right now is to slow down the spread of COVID-19, to flatten the curve. We may get sick, but surely being as healthy as possible beforehand has got to be a good thing, right? Here are things you can do right now to create more health - and they are free . Drink 2-3 litres of fresh water daily Exercise - walk, cycle, body weight exercise Eat fresh nutritious food Stay connected with loved ones - even if its facetime, facebook, show someone you care. 20.01.2022 Due to the continued updates with the COVID-19 virus, we are urging all patients to please self isolate if they are feeling unwell, so that we do not put other patients, our staff or practitioners at risk of infection. Please do not attend the practice if you have a fever or respiratory illness, or if you fit the recent Government criteria for self isolation for 14 days (ie returned from overseas since Sunday night, or have been to the restricted countries and subsequently f...eel unwell). We have introduced additional cleaning, strict hand sanitising and alcohol based cleaning for all our reception staff and practitioners to use in between each patient visit, and ask that all patients use the hand sanitiser at the reception desk when they enter the practice. We are implementing the advice from the Australian Government Department of Health as it's updated. Kind Regards Chiropractic Health and Wellness Centre

19.01.2022 X-rays are like a blue print. They show the alignment of the spine, degenerative changes, problem areas as well as how a person is responding to corrective chiropractic care. One of the first x-rays I ever took showed a .22 bullet in an old farmers chest. We dont normally go looking for bullets, but we do find some very interesting things...

19.01.2022 ***We are open as usual*** By now, you'll hopefully be aware, that our current climate has been affected by the outbreak of a virus known as COVID-19, or the Coronavirus. With the world at the mercy of the media, all of us at your Chiropractic Health & Wellness Centre want to do our part to educate you on the Coronavirus.... Let's start with a few top tips to ensure you're putting your body in the best position to fend off these viruses: Wash Hands - Wash your hands with soap and water often, for at least 20 seconds a time. Use Tissues - Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze. Vitamin C - Vitamin C is a great way to boost your immune system, whether you take supplements or stock up on your fruit and veg. Immune booster supplements found in chemists and pharmacies and your local naturopath. Let your immune system do the work! We may not be able to completely prevent illness, but there are certainly ways you may lessen the severity or duration of your time under the weather or in pain. And thats something anyone can be happy with, right? Here at Chiropractic Health & Wellness Centre, we wanted to reassure every client in our community that we are taking all necessary precautions in our clinics (in accordance with The Australian Government): We are wiping down our treatment beds between every client. We are encouraging our clients to book in advance and pay in advance for their care to reduce time spent in the waiting areas. Oil diffusers are running to help sanitize the air. Hand sanitiser has been made available at the front desks of each of our clinics. We are doing weekly deep cleans in each of our clinics. We are ensuring we have open windows to allow circulation and keep the fresh air flowing. Gloves will be provided to those who would like to use them. Educational leaflets have been printed and are now available at our front desks, to help educate you on the virus. We all need to take responsible action to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and so if you are displaying any specific Coronavirus symptoms, please call us to reschedule and follow advice to look after yourselves. By taking a few sensible precautions and working together, we can reduce the effects of the infection and reduce the disruption to daily life! To reassure you: 99% of people tested in Australia were NEGATIVE! 92% of people who have had the virus have recovered! 80% of people who currently have the virus are in a mild condition (advised to stay at home, relax!). 15% of people will have moderate symptoms 5% will have severe symptoms As we always do, and always have done, we are putting the health of our clients at the upmost of our importance. We as your health providers have so much gratitude for putting your faith in us for so many years. We will continue to do our part to support you and your health. Keep healthy, and remember, we've got your back.

16.01.2022 I agree 100% with this article. Postural muscles begin to turn off after as little as 20 minutes of inactivity. Guess what needs to support your weight once your postural muscles have turned off? Your ligaments, discs and joints - leading to nerve irritation and pain. https://www.huffingtonpost.com.au//the-one-thing-you-sho/

06.01.2022 Bad posture can lead to neck pain and headaches, mid back pain, low back pain and sciatica. In fact, the wrong posture can even affect your lung capacity! But it's not because we are lazy and "will power" alone will not fix it. ... Just try telling someone to "sit up straight". They will do it for 1 minute or so, but then they will fall back into the bad posture. Its because we naturally follow the "path of least resistance". For many people, it's just not comfortable to hold the correct posture because they are 'fighting' their own structure. A better option is making it just as "comfortable and easy" to hold the correct posture. That way you don't have to "think" about it - you just do it. We have just put together a 26 page guide on "Banishing Bad Posture". It's full of exercises and handy tips to make the 'right posture' easy. For a FREE copy simply type Posture in the comments below and we will send it to you ASAP!

05.01.2022 Here are some simple exercises you can do at home, with no equipment to support your postural muscles and get moving. I recommend doing them as often as you can. If you are desk-bound or sitting a lot, do them multiple times a day. Work within a pain-free limit - that is, do what you can do comfortably. Don't hurt yourself. ... If you have any questions or need variations to suit your needs, comment below and we will reach out via PM to help. As the saying goes "Don't wait till you are thirsty to dig the well". It may not prevent you from getting sick, but surely being as strong and resilient as possible has to be a good thing right?

03.01.2022 Sitting for prolonged periods of time can be a major cause of back pain. It causes increased stress of the back, neck, arms and legs and can add a tremendous amount of pressure to the back muscles and spinal discs. Additionally, sitting in a slouched position can overstretch the spinal ligaments and strain the spinal discs which over time can damage the spinal structure and contribute to recurrent episodes of neck or back pain. Try to remember to stand, stretch and walk ...at least a minute or two every half hour to help keep your joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons loose, which in turn will help you feel more comfortable, more relaxed and more productive. If you're experiencing back pain give us a call at (02) 6331 5977 or visit www.chwc.com.au to book an appointment. We also highly recommend to register to our Free "Bulletproof your lower back" webinar on TOMORROW NIGHT to learn how to recover from lower back pain and how to strengthen your back by following the link: https://bit.ly/3cyZ7eO

03.01.2022 Bad posture is not because we are lazy. Its because its not comfortable! If you want to improve your posture, you need to change your structure. Years of text neck or sitting at a computer or driving a truck leads to some muscles weakening and others becoming over tight. This puts pressure on other muscles and ligaments and joints leading to stiffness and pain. Here are some simple exercises most people can do at home either on the floor or standing up.... I just put together a 26 page book called "Banish Bad Posture". If you would like a FREE copy, type POSTURE in the comments below.
