05.01.2022 At the start of the session on Friday night, Coach had a conversation with Danny.. Coach- "Danny, the guys are working up tonight for their comp night, I want you to work up too" . Danny- "nah not today" .... Coach- "yeah Danny, while you're in on a heavy night work up with everyone, you'll be fine" . Danny- "nah not today, I'm not feeling it. I don't want to today. I don't feel good" . Coach- "Danny, just trust me, don't focus on the weight, just focus on good technique and moving well, and wherever that gets us doesn't matter... whether that's heavy, or only 40kg, let's just look at moving well and if no good we will take it from there". I have coached Danny off and over the last 8 years, and at 46 years old after many surgeries including, hand, hip, and feet this is not only the best Snatch I have seen him do, it's a PB!!! 70kg. There are two points to this story I want to highlight... 1- Always trust your coach. 2- even if you are sore and don't feel good always go into the gym with intent. Intent to switch on and focus and perform each exercise with purpose.
