05.01.2022 A few thoughts on suffering - 1. It will come to us all at some point in our lives. 2. It tries to isolate us from others because it has cousins called guilt and shame - which have tag lines like if you hadn’t of done this that wouldn’t have happened It tells us that if others know they would be horrified and see us differently - big fat lie right there ! 3. On the contrary when we share in someone’s suffering we enter into a richer deeper connectedness.... As we bring our suffering to God in prayer and reflection we do not honour, glorify or consecrate the suffering - we consecrate ourselves knowing that God will indeed be glorified through a consecrated - sold out , not leaning on my own understanding type of life ! There is always some blue sky ! You may just need to transcend the clouds to see it
