25.01.2022 Hi Parents, As you may have seen from The Administrator’s post, CIDHS is closed for another week and people are encouraged to work from home where possible. CI Daycare are thus seeking parents to please contact the Coordinator to advise whether you will be requiring care so that we can assign the appropriate staff. At this stage, CI Daycare will remain open to care for children of essential staff and those that require daycare but please do take heed of The Administrator and... Territory Controller’s instructions and work from home and keep your families at home if you can. We will be assessing this on a day to day basis so please do do keep in touch with the Coordinator if your needs for daycare change. We understand in these uncertain times, you may feel more comfortable to keep your children at home or make alternative arrangements for care, so we will not be charging any fees if you choose to not put your child in daycare this week. We will also not be charging any fees for children who need to isolate for the next five days. We will be continuing to maintain our high standards of hygiene at daycare and we encourage you all to do the same. Thank you. Farzian

17.01.2022 CALLING ALL MONSTERS! Join the daycare team for the Family Fun Walk at the CI Marathon this Sunday 14th of October at 10.20am. Prams welcome!! Just 2km stroll from Flying Fish Cove to the Supermarket and back. Register online at www.marathon.cx or pick up a registration form from CI Daycare. Part proceeds from the Marathon go to supporting CI Daycare. See you there!

16.01.2022 Children from CI Daycare visited the Pink House to find out all about the blue-tailed skinks of Christmas Island. We would to send a huge thank you to Kent and Sam from Parks Australia for providing an extremely interesting and interactive experience for Daycare kids. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt a lot about the blue-tailed skinks of CI.

Could all Daycare parents please bring a present for your child before Tuesday 12th December (can be dropped off at Daycare Centre). Also, could you please bring a plate of food to share. 12.01.2022 At CI Daycare, we are committed to the children, parents and community in providing excellent care and experience to our kids. We are very blessed to have a dedicated team of staff and committee who continually work together in striving for the best and improving the quality of care we provide to our kids. On Sunday, CI Daycare held a workshop, kindly facilitated by Vanessa and Marnie to brainstorm new ideas in how we can make this the best daycare and as we come out of COVID 19 restrictions and look forward to expanding our services. We are very excited to be sharing our new ideas with you in the coming weeks and we welcome parents to come and have a chat to us to hear about what we're doing. Our doors are always open and you're welcome anytime

12.01.2022 CI Daycare will be holding a fundraising food stall at tomorrow’s Sports Day from 11AM to 2PM. Thank you to our fabulous staff, parents and committee members for donating food and dedicating their time to the fundraiser!

12.01.2022 Our lovely Christmas Island Seniors came to visit us on Thursday and it was an enjoyable morning for both young and old. It was lovely to be able to share our morning tea with our Seniors, as well as having the kids perform a song and dance for them. Our kids had also made some paper flowers to pass to our seniors and we hope we're able to have more visits from our seniors in the future.

We understand that there is a fair amount of uncertainty at the moment in regards to the Coronavirus. Please know that the team at CI Daycare are monitoring the situation closely and constantly in terms of best practice. 10.01.2022 Our kids at CI Daycare wanted to join in with their siblings in support of raising money for Daffodil Day towards cancer research. Thank you for your gold coin donations. Together with CI Daycare’s dollar for dollar matching, we will be donating $100 to go to the Student Council of CIDHS to go to the Cancer Council. Thank you everyone. The yellow definitely brightened up everyone’s day Christmas Island District High School

08.01.2022 Come and join us for a Sausage Sizzle at the movies! Kindly organized by Westpac, all proceeds of the Fundraiser will be going to CI Daycare. There will also be raffles and games. See you there!

07.01.2022 Thank you to everyone that supported the CI Daycare Fundraiser at SeaWeek’s Family Fun Day! Thank you to the parents that donated food, the henna and face painting ladies and Australian Federal Police who put on the BBQ with all proceeds of the gold coin donation going to CI Daycare! As a not for profit organization and no Commonwealth funding, every little bit helps us providing a valuable service to CI. A total amount of $1449.45 was raised on Sunday. 07.01.2022 Hi All, CI Daycare’s AGM is scheduled for the 28th of July 2020 at 4PM at the CI Daycare office. All are welcome to attend. We are also looking for new committee members, as a not for profit organization, the committee is instrumental in assisting with the continuing operation of this important service on Christmas Island. We were saddened to hear one of our own being diagnosed with leukemia and would love to help in anyway that we can. 02.01.2022 Our CI Daycare kids are getting involved in this year’s Curious Creatures Literacy Week and today we had our awesome Miss Sha come and read The Gruffalo which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Thank You Miss Sha!
