22.01.2022 Our new community initiative trial WiFi hotspot has been up and running since Tuesday, and looks like it's been getting a fair bit of usage which is fantastic to see!! We (both CiFi and VOCUS) would love to hear from people who have connected, and get some feedback about your experience on our WiFi hotspot. What was your first taste internet access on CI via the fibre optic cable like?

19.01.2022 Good Morning CI, we've got a couple of quick updates for the community: We are still seeing a good amount of usage on the CiFi Community Trial Hotspot service, which is great to see! We'd love some additional feedback from any of our regular users? How you have found the quality of the service over the last few weeks? In regards to our May launch date target, unfortunately we still suffering delays as a result of the COVID19 pandemic, we have confirmation today that some of o...ur outstanding hardware will not arrive until later this month. Rest assured, we are working 7 days a week to make this launch happen for the community, and we will be posting more regular updates to our FB page and CI Blackboard to help keep everyone informed. Currently, we are hoping for an early June launch date - we are so close now! We are planning to do a pre-sale of the first 250 services this month, and service plans & pricing will be released at the same time. This allows us to ensure we have enough equipment and services prepared for launch day and to meet expected demand, and also give our customers the chance to secure a service without having to wait. 16.01.2022 Update for our Trial Hotspot Users: we are working to implement the core of our production network starting from tonight, and throughout this week. We are aiming to minimise any downtime, but there will be a couple of instances the free trial hotspot will be offline while we plug things in and do internet-y things. This also means we are closer again to launch day Thank you for your understanding.

09.01.2022 Today was launch day for CiFi, and what a great day it was. Over 12 happy customers connected to our new superfast internet service the first time in Settlement, Flying Fish Cove & Drumsite. Internet access has never looked so good or been so easy - thank you for your support CI! We are continuing to work hard to get our services into Poon Saan & Silver City as soon as we are able. 08.01.2022 CiFi is 1 month old Over 100 customers connected from launch day until today to our superfast undersea fibre internet services, and a total of 13TB (yes, terabytes!) usage from our customers in that first month. That is around 4,660 hours of Netflix alone! Not a single outage due to weather or otherwise, and many happy users. The future is looking bright CI, we can't wait to get everyone connected. Well... this is not the way we had intended to introduce ourselves, but considering current world events, we decided we needed to step up our schedule and do what we could to help the community in these uncertain times. We are CiFi - Christmas Island Fibre Internet. We have been working hard over the last year to bring the much-anticipated internet services via the VOCUS undersea fibre optic cable to the community, Yes, get excited! With the onset o...f the COVID-19 pandemic, we have downed normal work and have spent the last week putting together a community initiative to try and help the locals through this troubling time. We have released a letter which contains and introduction to CiFi, our business & services, and all the details on this community initiative.
